Desktop Material is a long-lived fork of GitHub Desktop (
desktop/desktop). Roughly 5,600 first-parent commits are inherited history — genesis7012c51cc2"README" (2016-05-11) up through the fork pointc4cc89538b, the merge of upstreamreleases/3.6.3-beta3(2026-07-09). That base is why every local tag carries thev3.6.3-beta3-*prefix. The material remake itself is a ~2-week burst layered on top (2026-07-11 → 07-24).Part of the Full changelog history index.
