RDRVR 0.8.5
RDRVR 0.8.5. Install as before: RedHook v0.8 first, then run Install.cmd from the zip. Your own settings are kept.
New, used in the developer's Quest 3 over Virtual Desktop
- A still body (Comfort tab, Torso: "Still", off by default): the torso, hips and belt stay still under your view, and only the arms and legs move.
- Drawing a gun no longer lowers your view.
- Guard with both fists (Gestures tab, on): raise both fists in front of your face to block in a fist fight.
- Anything in any holster (Weapons tab, off): any holster, the chest included, takes a gun, the knife, the lasso, a throwable or rounds.
- Each shown gun's angle and place at its holster, set with arrows (Holsters tab, under "Show the guns at their holsters").
- Motion blur held off (General tab, on). The game's own settings file is not changed.
- A heat haze switch (General tab, on as in the game).
- Driving a wagon or a coach, the view turns with it.
- A steadier reticle, and a second reticle when you hold two guns.
Fixed, used in the same headset
- The holsters keep their places after riding and after cutscenes.
- A fast swing of an empty hand on horseback no longer draws your last gun.
- A nearby person's gun of the same model no longer jumps onto your holster.
Fixed, tried in the developer's simulator only
- After Undead Nightmare, the main game no longer starts blurry when you use "Render resolution".
- Turning toward a holster no longer shows a second copy of its gun, facing another way.
- The second gun's reticle now sits on that gun's line of fire.
- The view keeps its height after you put a gun away, and in the fist-fight stance.
- Leaving a shop no longer leaves the view in third person. This one never happened in the simulator: please report it if you still see it.
- When the game has put a gun away by itself, the guard no longer draws that gun.
Other changes
- The holsters' default places have been tuned anew. A place or size you set yourself is kept.
- Hat tip to greet (Gestures tab) is off by default: John has not been seen to greet anyone with it yet.
Known: short bursts of stutter (single frames of about 90 ms) can happen, as in earlier versions. If you see them, please attach RDRVR.log to an issue and say what you were doing.
