Highlights

  • Move sync for present-owners (weave spec v12, #1757). Two new structs let a present-owner, such as the browser, tag its own Wayland commits so its window drags are move-synchronised:
    • XrWeaveWindowLogicalOriginDXR (in, chained on the bind): the caller's logical window origin and scale.
    • XrWeaveOutputOriginDXR (out, per xrWeaveSubmitDXR): the origin each woven output buffer was woven for, plus a serial.
  • GNOME Shell extension v10 (#1758). A move-synced window is now held only while its frame tag is mapped. Windows showing no woven content (for example a browser on a 2D page) drag like plain windows, with no start-of-drag stall. A tag appearing mid-drag starts the hold, and a tag going away releases it at once. New placement capability bit 4 (value 16, PLACEMENT_CAP_MOVE_SYNC_TAG_GATED), set only together with bit 3. The Linux .deb ships extension v10.

Features

  • feat(weave): spec v12 — woven origin per output buffer for present-owner move sync (#1756) (#1757)
  • feat(gnome-shell): move-sync hold gated on a mapped frame tag — extension v10 (#1758)

Tests

  • test(linux): DXR_WL_TEST_TAG — a move-synced window whose frame tag is never / periodically mapped (test-only hook, off by default; plus the scripts/linux/move_sync/gate.py per-drag gate report) (#1758)
