RaceWave46 RC7 retains the X112 rendering baseline used by RC6 and adds Nintendo Switch Online N64 controller improvements.

Changelog

  • N64 controller rumble: added the controller's native on/off motor support, with rumble following the game's pulses and no lingering vibration from an extra decay envelope.
  • N64 menu shortcut: L + R + Start opens or closes settings, providing an alternative to the Minus button.
  • Controller priority: an external player-one controller takes priority over attached Joy-Cons for input and rumble. Disconnecting it restores the attached Joy-Cons.

Downloads and installation

  • RaceWave46-Switch-RC7-release.zip: complete release package with the NRO, installation instructions and the same Nano Banana 2 v2 HD texture pack by elliotttate included with RC6. Extract to the root of your SD card.
  • RaceWave46.nro: standalone executable for updating an existing installation. Replace SD:/switch/RaceWave46/RaceWave46.nro.

Existing saves, settings, texture packs and RetroAchievements credentials are preserved. RC7 continues using the existing switch-menu-rc6.ini settings file.

Supply your own Wave Race 64 USA Rev 1 ROM in .z64 format at SD:/switch/RaceWave46/waverace64.n64.us.rev1.z64. Launch through HBMenu title override. Enable the optional HD pack in Mods.

No ROM or project source code is included in the uploaded assets.

RaceWave46 is an unofficial Wave Race 64 recompilation for Nintendo Switch, celebrating its 30th anniversary. Features Deko3D/OpenGL renderers, 60FPS at 720p portable/1080p docked at stock clocks, enhanced local two-player mode, MSAA, texture packs, RetroAchievements, Dolphin ghost in Time Trail mode, rumble and optional water/sky reflections and shadows. Requires your own ROM.

Download RaceWave46-Switch-RC6-release.zip below and extract it to the root of your SD card. Installation instructions are in switch/RaceWave46/README.md.

Supply your Wave Race 64 USA Rev 1 ROM in .z64 format at SD:/switch/RaceWave46/waverace64.n64.us.rev1.z64.

The ZIP includes the Nano Banana 2 v2 HD texture pack by elliotttate. Enable it in Mods to use the HD textures.
