@github-actions github-actions released this 05 Oct 19:23

CloudWire 0.4.1 for macOS 14 Sonoma and later (Universal: Apple silicon and Intel).

Highlights

  • Mounts: attach any rclone-supported cloud as a Finder drive. Uses the built-in macOS NFS client by default, with optional FUSE (FUSE-T or macFUSE) per Mount.
  • Offline Items: pick any folders and files in a tree; they are kept as real local files at their cloud path on your SSD or an external drive, synced both ways in the background at the lowest system priority.
  • Pause Rules: syncing pauses automatically while your DAW or video editor runs, on battery, on metered networks, or under high CPU load. Bandwidth limits included.
  • Sharing from Finder: public links with password and expiry, internal links, user, group and email shares for Nextcloud and ownCloud; public links for other providers.
  • Vaults: client-side encrypted folders based on rclone crypt, with a password and a one-time Recovery Key.
  • Activity Log: every sync run, conflict and error, searchable and exportable as JSON or CSV.

Install

  1. Download CloudWire-0.4.1.dmg, open it and drag CloudWire into Applications.
  2. Open CloudWire from Applications. This build is ad-hoc signed, so macOS may refuse to open it the first time:
    • macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26 Tahoe: open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about CloudWire and click Open Anyway, then confirm.
    • macOS 14 Sonoma: right-click (or Control-click) CloudWire in Applications, choose Open, then click Open in the dialog.
  3. During onboarding, allow the CloudWire background item when macOS asks. You can also turn it on later under System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions (macOS 15 and later) or System Settings > General > Login Items (macOS 14), in the Allow in the Background list. The background service keeps Mounts and syncing running while the window is closed.
  4. Enable the CloudWire Finder extension when onboarding asks. You can also turn it on later under System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Extensions (macOS 15 and later) or System Settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > Added Extensions (macOS 14). It provides the Finder context menu and the sync badges.
  5. After each update, macOS asks once whether CloudWire may access its Keychain items. Click Always Allow. This happens because ad-hoc signed builds get a new code signature with every release.
