Release list
Shellmate v1.0.0
The first public release of Shellmate: an AI-assisted terminal and SSH connection manager for Windows.
Highlights
- Live terminals with an assistant you can watch. Local PowerShell/POSIX shells and SSH sessions, with tabs and a two-terminal split. Assistant commands are typed into the same visible shell, and Take over returns control at any time.
- Explicit permissions. Each workspace connection is Disabled, Ask before commands (the default), or Autonomous, and web access has the same three levels.
- Per-connection notes that you and the assistant both read and write, so machine context stays visible and editable.
- Bring your own model. Sign in with a Codex account, or use any OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions or Responses endpoint, or Anthropic.
- Credentials stay encrypted. API keys, OAuth tokens, and SSH passwords use Windows OS encryption and never enter the database. Unknown or changed SSH host keys need explicit trust.
- Long-running work. Context is compacted between tool rounds, conversation history is kept per workspace, and commands can be watched, waited on, or interrupted.
