Very interested — and the reason is the same one behind your instinct to ask: the pieces already exist. EQBuddy reads your The plan — deliberately not called BiS, because "best" is a playstyle opinion, but "this is strictly worse than what you own" is a fact:
One honest caveat: comparisons will only be as good as the wiki's stats blocks, and it's your own gear only — EQBuddy doesn't rank you against anyone. It's queued behind a debuff-alert feature currently mid-build (#94), so not the next release, but it's on the roadmap. This thread gets pinged when it lands. |

Built — coming in the next update, and it grew into exactly the shape you asked for: the Gear Locker (⚙ menu → Gear Locker…). What it does: every wearable in your The honest edges, stated in the window itself: it ranks what you own, never the game's whole item pool — you asked for "BiS from what is in your storage/bank/inventory" and that boundary is deliberate, both because it's your actual decision ("what do I keep?") and because a global "BiS" list is a taste war we don't want to referee. Stats come from the wiki on an explicit fetch (first open pulls the pages you're missing, politely paced, cached for a week — after that it's instant), and comparisons use base stats: a +N raises numbers in-game by an amount the wiki doesn't publish, so your upgrades are shown on the row but never silently folded into the math. It pairs with the shopping-list import that landed in v1.70.0 — that card tracks the gear you want, the Locker judges the gear you have. The natural next step, if the Locker proves useful, is the two meeting: flagging when something you looted beats something you're wearing. Tell us how the dump-candidate flags hold up against your actual judgment — that comparison logic is deliberately conservative, and field reports are what will tune it. |

Now live in v1.72.0 - the Gear Locker ships, backed by a new built-in catalog of 10,955 items so it fills in without fetching. And @dandrews2930 - genuinely glad this landed near what you were planning. If you still want to build in this area, the meeting point we'd love help with is auto-checking your imported shopping list from loot/inventory the way Sky quests self-tick; the importer you contributed is exactly the other half of that feature. |
Uh oh!

I know that EQBuddy does really DO "BiS" but since you are pulling logs anyway, if it could tell you somehow what you should be using based on what you already own in all your storage, it would be crazy helpful. We all have so much gear/weapons stored away everywhere it is impossible to know what you should be keeping and what you should be dumping. Just a thought. Don't know if even interested in doing equipment stuff.
