v1.72.0 — the map learns your zones
The map learns your zones, and what you learn can travel.
New
- Spawn-point circles on the zone map: every kill near a fresh
/locbecomes an observation; observations cluster into spawn points; each zone builds an archive that only gets better the more you play. Named points wear your theme's accent with their name beside them, ordinary camps sit dim, and a circle pulses when a respawn is due within ten seconds. Hover for the mobs seen there, kill counts, last kill, and the projected respawn. Multi-spawn named (Crushbone royal guards, we see you) show every point they've actually died at. Pets roll into their owners. (Map features are Windows-only for now — the archives your log builds are ready for the Linux map when it lands.) - Share zone knowledge (map window): export a zone's spawn points and timers — learned ones and ones you typed alike, custom named included — as one paste-safe
EQBZstring. Import a friend's with a full preview first: every change listed, and a timer far off the zone's known clock arrives flagged, applying only if you say so. Submit to EQBuddy opens a prefilled GitHub Discussion — reviewed in the open, shipped in releases, credited. Zero telemetry, always contribution: nothing leaves your machine unless you paste it somewhere yourself. - 🧰 Gear Locker (⚙ menu, thanks Techsteps, #104): every wearable you own, grouped by slot, compared against the rest of your bags — an item beaten on every stat by something else you hold gets flagged "⬇ outclassed", by arithmetic, not taste.
- Built-in item catalog: 10,955 items from eqlwiki embedded — item stats on hover work instantly and offline; a freshly-fetched wiki page still outranks it.
- Raid difficulty tiers: bosses wear their highest proven D0–D4 tier badge, read from the zone-enter line your log actually witnessed.
- Chart polish everywhere: smooth monotone curves that cannot exaggerate, colorblind-checked palette, soft fills, ringed peaks, proper legends. Damage you take is now blue — red always means something is wrong.
- Sky quest tabs sort closest-to-done with per-quest scores; stance and invocation swaps mark the fight timeline.
Fixed
- Charm claiming got per-spell arm windows: a landing claims your pet only within that spell's cast time plus slack — a bystander's charm long after your own cast can't steal the claim, and late landings degrade to the honest "Pet?" state instead of nothing (thanks to the 167 CC spells that now carry wiki cast times).
- Spawn timers understand raid instances (#109, thanks Frankthetankk); Selo's fade no longer fakes a slow alert (#116, thanks Fennec-Halas); chip windows stop migrating off-screen on multi-monitor setups (#117) and portable copies stop "reverting" after updates (#119, both thanks Snagglefern); a tray icon keeps hidden EQBuddy findable (#114); slow chips show type and count (#94); two-class Sky items tick one and flag the rest (#106, thanks bjstrange).
