With Stretch 16:9 games to a narrower screen (#63) on, games still get bars when Steam Deck mode is on, which #101 made the default for new installs. In Deck mode the client writes GAMESCOPE_NEW_SCALING_SCALER = 0 (Auto) on the root window. gamescope follows that over the -S stretch it was started with, and Auto fits the 16:9 picture with bars. Not merged - a test build of open PR #128: Expose the compositor's upscaler (FSR 1 / GSR / NIS) as a session setting

The compositor already ships the spatial upscalers from the X11 renderer: effects_chain.c has FSR 1 (EASU+RCAS), Snapdragon GSR and its quality variant, NIS, and RCAS sharpen, plus a sharpness slider. They're reachable through WaylandCompositor.nativeSetUpscaler / nativeSetUpscaleSharpness, but nothing has called them since the Winlator-era drawer was removed. So the scene is always enlarged
