Native offline Armenian speech and Russian translation for Apple Silicon Macs, macOS 14 or newer.
Version 1.0.2:
- Fixed launch of the ad-hoc signed app with its bundled native libraries.
- Russian-to-Armenian translation uses the specialized WindyEnhanced herm0 model (WindstormLabs / WindyWord.ai, CC-BY-4.0). Armenian-to-Russian uses SMaLL-100 (MIT). Models are bundled; no online service or account is required. Translation can still contain mistakes.
- The translation panel stays open until closed. While open, translation runs after a 600 ms typing pause or immediately with Translate. Closing stops scheduling translations.
- Playback reads Armenian from the editor or the current Armenian translation, including a result in the lower panel.
- Speech speed is 0.1–2.0 in steps of 0.1.
Download the DMG and drag Armenian Speaker to Applications. This build has an ad-hoc signature; it is not Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS may block the first launch. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/102445 for Apple's instructions for a trusted app.
Validated: 9 passing tests including actual speech synthesis at 0.1, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0 and 2.0, caching, translation in both directions and automatic translation scheduling. Built and tested on macOS 26.6.2; deployment target is macOS 14.
SHA256SUMS contains artifact hashes. The sources archive includes the application plus matching Piper and espeak-ng source archives. Other native dependencies and exact model revisions are recorded in the build scripts. All bundled licenses are available in Settings - Open Licenses.
