AutoDoc 1.2.0: Notes, rewritten ✨

This is the notes update. AutoDoc now writes a meeting the way you’d actually read it back: a short summary, topics from the conversation, and timestamps you can play. Copy, export, and a tougher processing path come along for the ride.

A better way to read the meeting

• New meetings open with the title and a Summary, then topics taken from what was discussed, with supporting details nested under the point they belong to.
• Each point can include a play button that jumps straight to that moment in the recording.
• You can edit the summary, a topic, or a point, and add a topic or a point of your own.
• Meetings you already have keep their current notes. Reprocess one from its Settings tab to rewrite it in the new format.
• If the topic layout cannot be prepared, AutoDoc shows the notes in the previous category format and offers to regenerate them.
• At the bottom of a finished note, you can say whether it was useful. That rating is optional, and the meeting itself stays on your computer.

Copy and export

• Copy notes puts the notes on the clipboard as plain text.
• Export saves the same notes as PDF, Word, or Markdown, in the same order you see on screen.

More reliable processing

• Notes and Ask AI now run on a new local model. Machines with enough memory use Qwen 3. The update downloads it in the background, and notes keep working on the previous model until it’s ready.
• 8 GB Macs and Windows PCs use a smaller notes model and a lighter path, so notes take less memory and the machine stays more usable while they finish. 16 GB is still the comfortable default.
• On Windows, AutoDoc now chooses the transcription profile for you. If the GPU fails on one recording, that recording finishes on CPU and keeps its transcript. The next recording tries the GPU again.
• Notes recover when the local model stalls or returns a bad response, instead of leaving the meeting without notes.
• On Windows PCs with a capable discrete GPU, notes can use that GPU. Otherwise they stay on CPU.
• If there is not enough free memory to transcribe or write notes, AutoDoc explains what happened and lets you close other apps and retry.

Bug fixes

• Dismissing a meeting-detected prompt no longer brings the AutoDoc window forward.
• Auto-record for a recurring series stays set after the calendar syncs.
• Pasting copied notes into Notion no longer drops in a second copy.
• A failed reprocess keeps the transcript and notes you already have.

More reliable processing on Windows

• AutoDoc now releases Ollama’s notes model after generation, freeing memory for transcription and other processing.
• When available memory is low, GPU work is coordinated more carefully to reduce transcription failures and device-loss errors.
• If memory remains too constrained, GPU transcription now stops cleanly instead of proceeding into a failed state.

Better notes recovery and diagnostics

• Manually reprocessing notes now gets a fresh retry window after an earlier Ollama delay has timed out.
• AutoDoc avoids duplicate recovery attempts while notes generation is already waiting to resume.
• Improved Ollama diagnostics make startup and recovery problems easier to troubleshoot.
• Diagnostic uploads more consistently redact Windows user paths.

• A new Email Us action opens your default mail client, with a copy-address fallback when a draft cannot be opened.
• AutoDoc may occasionally invite you to share feedback after meaningful use. The prompt is non-blocking and can be reminded later or dismissed permanently.

Notes

The first launch downloads local transcription and AI models, so onboarding requires an internet connection and roughly 10 GB of free storage. After setup, day-to-day recording and processing run locally.
