v0.0.15-pre.1 - Windows Port (Pre-release)

This pre-release marks a functional Windows x64 port of NTS Desktop.

Highlights

  • End-to-end Windows runtime and packaging port.
  • Functional NSIS x64 installer.
  • Live stream playback fixed on Windows.

Functional Changes

  • Added single-instance app behavior to prevent duplicate launches.
  • Added second-instance handling to focus/restore the existing window.
  • Added platform guards so macOS-only behavior is not executed on Windows.
  • Improved tray/window positioning behavior for Windows.
  • Added menu + IPC wiring to open show URLs directly from the app (WIP, NOT WORKING FOR NOW).

Critical Fixes

  • Fixed startup crashes when Firebase config is missing.
  • Made Firebase initialization non-fatal and resilient.
  • Resolved packaged runtime missing-module errors
  • Fixed player lifecycle to avoid instant stop after pressing play.
  • Fixed CSP for live stream redirect chain

Build, Packaging, and CI/CD

  • Configured Windows packaging with Electron Builder + NSIS x64.
  • Added/updated scripts for main, preload, renderer, and dist packaging.
  • Switched dist dependency strategy to a flat install to avoid pnpm symlink packaging omissions.
  • Updated build/version helper scripts for release flow.

UX and Documentation Updates

  • Updated help/copy for the Open Archive Show URL flow (WIP).
  • Updated README and usage guidance for Windows.
  • Improved login error surfacing to show runtime/backend errors more clearly.

Notes

  • If you see "Firebase config is missing. Live tracks login is disabled.", the app should still run; only that module is disabled when config is absent.
