OK, I looked over config_compsets and the testlist again.

It looks like in terms of compsets this is handled. All compsets with CAM70 are using CLM60%SP.

In terms of tests though of the 308 tests, only 27 are CAM70*_CLM60%SP. So I'm wondering if more should shift to CAM70 compsets?

Compsets and tests for CLM60%BGC?

There's 5 compsets that use CLM50%BGC, and as fully coupled compsets use CLM60%BGC-CROP I wonder if there should be some F compsets and tests for that. It also looks like there aren't any that run _BGC%BPRP and maybe there should be to make sure Emissions driven cases work (but that's a whole thing outside of this issue). Note, that emissions driven cases need to have %BGC of some sort for CLM.

Finite volume tests

It looks like the FV dycore tests are mostly CAM60/CLM50 which makes sense to me, since FV isn't the default and all the tuning is for the SE dycore and grids. There's a lot of tests for FV though (186), and wonder if some of those should be shifted to CAM70 SE dycore? But, that's up to you.

FV3 grid tests -- should they all be for CAM60/CLM50?

This is something I wanted to know about. Will the FV3 grids just be run with CAM60? That might make sense, that's the way it's setup now.

mpasa grids tests -- some are CAM60 some CAM70 -- should they be moved to CAM70/CLM60?

The MPASA grids are a mix of CAM70 and CAM60 compsets, will that stay that way or more moved to CAM70 compsets? This is another thing I wanted to know about for our testing.

VR grids tests (CONUS, ARCTIC, ARTICGRID, NATL, POLARCAP) -- most are CAM60 -- moved to CAM70/CLM60 compsets?

Most of the VR grids tests are for CAM60 -- and I'm wondeirng if they will be updated to CAM70?

SE grids tests -- most are CAM60 -- more moved to CAM60/CLM60 compsets?

There's 95 SE grids and only 39 are for CAM70 compsets. And I wonder if that should be shifted to more CAM70 compsets.

My main interest is to make sure our tests for CAM specific grids (FV3, mpasa, and VR grids) are done in compsets similar to what CAM will test them in. So right now that would be CAM60 compsets, but I'm thinking that you'll be shifting at least some of them to CAM70 compsets, so I wanted an idea of what the shift might look like for the special CAM grids.
