Release v1.2.0 — “Split TOML Configs & Full Coordinates Validation”
✳️ What’s New
1. Split TOML Architecture (WCRP Schema-Aligned)
- Multi-file TOML: Migrated from a single config to split TOMLs (
project,file,drs,global_attributes,geophysical_variable,coordinate_variables) plus dedicated mappings. - Expanded rule surface: Added more constraint parameters and mapping-driven behaviors to fit the new configuration paradigm.
2. Full Coordinates Validation (CMIP6 & CMIP7)
- Global coordinate rules: Dimension checks and bounds policy applied consistently.
- Bounds validation: Verifies bounds variables (existence + expected shape consistency).
- Monotonicity: Implemented as a dedicated unit check and integrated into coordinate orchestration.
- Time validation (TOML-driven):
TIME001(squareness) +TIME002(coverage). - Coordinate attributes: Full attribute-suite validation for coordinate variables (e.g.,
units,standard_name,axis,bounds, etc.) driven bycoordinate_variables.toml.
3. CMIP7 DRS7& Consistency Updates
- DRS parsing: Updated directory/filename parsing and consistency checks to support CMIP7 layouts and tokenization rules.
- Variant label consistency (
[ATTR006]): Supports both numeric and prefixed index attributes (e.g.,1vsr1/i1/p1/f3).
4. Stability & Regression Fixes
- Fixed tuple/dict edge cases in shared consistency code to prevent CMIP7 changes from breaking CMIP6 runs.
⚠️ CMIP7 Note
CMIP7 validation has been tested on a limited set of CMIP7 data example files only. so minor edge-case issues may remain.
