InputStreamReader

EWriter edited this page Dec 24, 2021 · 1 revision

An InputStreamReader is a bridge from byte streams to character streams: It reads bytes and decodes them into characters using a specified charset. The charset that it uses may be specified by name or may be given explicitly, or the platform's default charset may be accepted.

public class InputStreamReaderExample {
public static void main(String[] args) {
try {
InputStream stream = new FileInputStream("file.txt");
Reader reader = new InputStreamReader(stream);
int data = reader.read();
while (data != -1) {
System.out.print((char) data);
data = reader.read();
}
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
