Dictation
- Dictate into notes on macOS 26 or later with Cmd+Shift+D. macOS recognizes the speech on this Mac; turn dictation on and choose a language in Settings → Dictation.
- See what you say at the cursor as you speak. The text is inserted as one undoable edit when you finish, and Escape cancels without changing the note.
- Press Cmd+K right after dictating and choose Clean up dictation to remove filler words and fix punctuation with your AI provider.
Beta notes
- Beta installers remain unsigned. Automatic updates remain disabled for beta builds. Download beta.8 manually and close the previous version before opening it.
- Dictation asks for microphone access the first time you use it. Each language's speech model downloads from Apple once through macOS.
- Dictation is not available on Windows, Linux or macOS versions before 26 yet.
