Release list
v0.0.4
The cymbal steps back, and the online instrument fills with other players.
FIRE's cymbal sits lower. Trimmed by ear: it was standing a shade in front of the kit on every drop and every random fill. That is the only thing on the board that moved this release.
The rest of this one is ELEMENTS online. Three other players now dock at eatingVoltage.com/elements-online, take a module each and play it - striking on the grid, sweeping knobs, leaning on the action row for a bar or four. They stand back when you reach for what they are holding, and you can shoo one away. What they will never do is book a drop: the freeze belongs to the hands in the room.
The online sim is this firmware, compiled for the browser and cut from this same tag, so what a stranger hears there is what your board plays.
v0.0.3
FIRE grows two new hands, the instrument agrees with your ear about where the one is, and a held action button is never silent again.
FIRE halftime. Tap AB3, then press and hold it: the written pattern drags at half speed until you let go, and snaps back the instant you do. The roll stays quiet for that press — you cannot have both on one button.
FIRE knob looper. Hold AB1 and turn. Ten of FIRE's knobs record for as long as you hold, up to eight bars, and loop when you let go. Touching a knob during playback bends the recorded shape rather than fighting it, so a correction never leaves a dead spot. Hold erase and press AB1, or double-tap AB1, to wipe it. It lives in the pattern slot like everything else FIRE owns, and it mutes with the kit.
The kick states the one. A kick pattern that sits entirely off the quarter grid now moves the bar the whole instrument counts, so drops, bank recalls and the bar lamps land where the room hears the one — not where slot 0 happens to be.
A held action button outranks the mute. Kick roll, tom fill, ghost stutter and random fill all sound while their voice is muted. The mute gates the sequencer, never your fingers. The muted lamp dims while you override it instead of claiming something untrue.
Erase reaches across the pattern switch. Hold erase and throw the day/night lever: the slot you land in is emptied, and the one you left behind is saved first. FIRE marks it with a cymbal; EARTH does it in silence.
FIRE's two slots wear their own colours — day warm, night deep scarlet with a white sparkle — and the centre pair keeps showing which slot is live while the lever rests in the middle.
AIR hands chords over instead of switching them. The leaving key fades down as the arriving one comes up, over the time the voices actually take to settle.
Also: AB3 + pattern flip spawns four-on-the-floor again, on the frame's one. Drop landings and kick loudness are retuned, and every button press is timestamped four times more finely than before.
v0.0.1 (test)
Test release to validate the updater tool end-to-end. Adds firmware version reporting over USB serial (the ID command) and reboot-to-bootloader support for the new PC updater tool.
