- When hovering over a symbol or a diagnostic of any severity, a tooltip will show containing information that will hopefully make development easier.
What are symbols?
- Symbols are named identifiers in your code
- e.g. functions, variables, classes, methods, or properties
What are definitions?
- A definition is the declaration of the symbol
What is a diagnostic?
- A diagnostic is a helpful piece of info to help you find problems within your code. They can range from just pieces of info that don't necessarily harm your code, for example
Unnecessary using directive, which means you are importing a library that doesn't get used within the code. Or it can be something that causes an error and will prevent your mod from compiling.
- Folding is applied to blocks of code such as methods, if-statements, namespaces, and other blocks to collapse or expand them for a neat appearance
- When typing, an autocomplete window will pop up, hopefully providing accurate predictions of what you are searching for.
- The list of possible items is created from identifiers in your code, in Isle Goblin's code, and in all the .dlls from Unity, BepInEx, and other plugins
- Last I checked, it was over 11000 items, but that will vary as time goes on.
