BMI Logic (How it works)

1) Inputs

• Height in centimeters (cm)
• Weight in kilograms (kg)

2) Convert height to meters

var heightMeters = heightCm / 100;

3) Calculate BMI

The standard BMI formula is used:

var bmi = weightKg / (heightMeters * heightMeters);

4) Determine Category

The calculated BMI value is used to determine the weight category:

BMI Range	Category
Less than 18.5	Underweight
18.5 – 24.9	Normal weight
25.0 – 29.9	Overweight
30.0 or greater	Obese
