Release list
Mickey 0.1.0
The first release of Mickey: one keyboard and mouse for all your PCs, Linux and Windows, over your own network.
What it does
- Move between PCs across the screen edges (Windows and Hyprland), with a hotkey, or with the switcher.
- Any PC drives any other: every PC runs the same
mickey. - A shared clipboard that follows the keyboard: text, images and files (up to 60 MiB), with a searchable history kept in memory only.
- Finds your PCs and pairs them with a six-digit code, no terminal needed.
- Encrypted (Noise), and only between paired PCs.
- A way home that always works: hold Right Shift for 3 seconds.
- A tray icon that shows where the keyboard is, and a settings window.
Install
- Windows 10/11: run
Mickey-Setup-0.1.0.exe. It installs to Program Files, starts Mickey at logon and allows it through the firewall on private networks only.- The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn: choose More info → Run anyway.
- Signing through the SignPath Foundation is planned.
- Linux (x86-64, glibc 2.35 or newer, systemd): unpack
mickey-linux-x86_64.tar.gzand run./install.sh.
Check the downloads against SHA256SUMS.
Known limits
- Screen edges only on Windows and Hyprland; elsewhere, use the hotkeys and the switcher.
- Touchpad tap-to-click and two-finger scroll do not cross yet.
- Keys are sent by position: give both PCs the same keyboard layout.
- Local network only.
See the README for the full list. Bugs and ideas are welcome in the issues.
