Synx 0.1.0

First public release of Synx, a compiled language with ownership and borrowing, C-style syntax, and a self-hosted compiler.

Each package has the self-hosted compiler, the runtime, the standard library, and an installer. Synx links programs with its own linker, so you do not need Visual Studio, a C compiler, or a system linker.

• Windows: run synx-0.1.0-windows-x86_64-setup.exe, or extract the zip and run install.cmd. The setup program is not signed, so Windows SmartScreen can ask you to confirm: select More info, then Run anyway.
• Linux and macOS: extract the tarball, then run ./install.sh in the extracted folder.

Open a new terminal and run synx version. The install guide has all the options.

Synx makes x86-64 code only. On a Mac with Apple Silicon, the compiler and the programs it builds run through Rosetta 2. Install it with softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license if it is not installed.

This is a pre-release. The language and the library can change before 1.0.
