QuickLauncherApp v0.1.0 is the first public release of a macOS fullscreen launcher designed to provide an alternative to Launchpad.
Features:
- Fullscreen transparent overlay with the system Dock visible
- Grid layout of applications (4 rows × 5 columns per page)
- Built-in search field to quickly filter applications
- Scroll gestures and page indicators for navigation
- One-tap dismissal by clicking the background or after launching an app
- Global hotkey (Option + Space) to open the launcher
Compatibility:
- macOS 14 and later
- Apple Silicon and Intel
Installation:
- Download the attached QuickLauncherApp-0.1.0.zip file.
- Unzip and move QuickLauncherApp.app to your /Applications folder.
- On first launch, right-click the app and choose "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper since this build is not yet signed or notarized.
Known Limitations:
- The app is not signed or notarized, so macOS will prompt for confirmation on first launch.
- Paging indicators are functional but may not behave identically to Launchpad.
- Optimized Release build is recommended for best performance.
