v2.11.0
What's New
Arize Phoenix / OpenInference tracing
Atomic Agents now ships an optional OpenInference instrumentor. Install atomic-agents[observability] (or just have arize-phoenix-otel installed) and phoenix.otel.register(auto_instrument=True) picks it up automatically.
Features
- AGENT span per
AtomicAgent.run/run_async/run_stream/run_async_stream, namedClass[InputSchema, OutputSchema].run, with input/output JSON andatomic_agents.*attributes (model, mode, schema names, history size, context providers, static prompt hash) - TOOL span per
BaseTool.run/run_async/arun, MCP tools included AtomicAgentsInstrumentor().instrument(tracer_provider=..., config=TraceConfig(...))for any OpenTelemetry backend; fully reversible withuninstrument()- New example
atomic-examples/phoenix-tracingand guidedocs/guides/observability.md
Improvements
- Forge tools that run their async body in a thread pool now propagate the caller's context, so spans created inside the pool stay in the caller's trace
Notes
- The entry point lives on the core package. If you already use
register(auto_instrument=True), agent and tool payloads start being exported after this upgrade; setOPENINFERENCE_HIDE_INPUTS/OPENINFERENCE_HIDE_OUTPUTSto redact them.
