Release list
Beta 1.0.7
What's New
- Fresh look across the whole extension — the popup, protection tab, settings, and snapshots page now share one consistent design instead of each looking slightly different.
- The guardian tab looks like a proper card now, not just centered text.
- Settings is reachable from every page — previously only the popup could get there.
- Settings sections have icons for clearer visibility.
- Snapshots search now has a clear button and friendlier empty states.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the popup icon endlessly replaying its little "pop" animation every 1.5 seconds.
- Fixed a rare bug where protecting two windows at almost the same moment could lose or corrupt the protection state.
- Fixed a similar issue on the snapshots page where renaming, deleting, undoing, or importing at the same time could conflict. Those actions now happen one at a time.
- Importing a file now follows the same rules as normal snapshots — it can't bring in an empty window or an oversized tab title.
- The rename icon is now always visible (it used to only show on hover, unlike delete).
- Pressing Escape while renaming now truly cancels — it no longer quietly rewrites the unchanged name.
- Fixed a brief flash of the wrong theme when forcing Light or Dark on load.
Notes
- Works on Chrome and all Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Aside, and others).
- Load unpacked via your browser's extensions page with Developer mode enabled.
- Protection is opt-in each session: click once per window to arm it.
- Incognito, crash, force quit, and OS shutdown are unsupported.
- Please report any issues in our Discord.
Beta 1.0.6
What's New
- Protect all windows — a button in the popup arms every open normal window in one click. Incognito windows are skipped.
- Search snapshots — a search box on the snapshots page filters by tab title or site name. It narrows both which snapshots show and, inside an expanded one, which tabs are listed.
- Undo delete — deleting still takes a second click to confirm, but now also shows a brief "Undo" toast at the bottom of the page for about 6 seconds, in case you change your mind after the fact.
- Export / import — Settings can export all your snapshots to a JSON file, and import one back in later, on this device or another. Import merges with what's already there and skips anything that isn't a valid snapshot, telling you how many were imported versus skipped.
- Keyboard shortcut for the recovery page — a command to jump straight to the snapshots page. Left with no default key combo, so it can't collide with something you already use — assign one in Settings or at
chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Once set, the popup's "All snapshots" button shows it as a tooltip.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed snapshots collapsing when you renamed or deleted one — the list rebuild used to collapse every other expanded snapshot on the page. That state is now tracked and preserved.
Notes
- Works on Chrome and all Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera, Aside, and others).
- Load unpacked via your browser's extensions page with Developer mode enabled.
- Protection is opt-in each session: click once per window to arm it.
- Incognito, crash, force quit, and OS shutdown are unsupported.
- Please report any issues in our Discord.
Beta 1.0.5
What's New
- Theme control — Settings → Appearance now has a Light / Dark / Auto segmented control. Auto follows your OS; Light and Dark stay pinned regardless of OS setting.
- Quick theme toggle — a small icon button in the popup header cycles through the same three states, so you don't need to open Settings for a quick switch.
- Theme applied everywhere — the choice is stored and applied across the popup, the protection tab, settings, and the snapshots page.
- Snapshots: delete — the trash icon requires a two-click confirmation. The first click arms it, the second within ~3 seconds deletes the snapshot.
- Snapshots: rename — click the pencil to edit a snapshot's title inline. Enter or click away saves, Escape cancels. A blank name reverts to the default date-based title.
- Snapshot limit raised to 30 — the settings dropdown now offers 5, 10, 20 or 30 snapshots to keep. Previously the maximum was 20.
- UI polish — smoother buttons, toggle, and animations throughout.
- Project links — Settings now has a Project section with buttons to the source repo and the website.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the black-icon bug on the rename and delete buttons in the snapshots page.
Notes
- Skipping 1.0.4 — 1.0.4 was a testers-only release. It was unstable and bug-heavy, and was never intended for general use. If you're on 1.0.3, update straight to 1.0.5.
- Please report any issues in our Discord
