@Ekspym Ekspym released this 09 Oct 21:52

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2.3 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN).

Fix

  • Inputs no longer get lost or stuck after a rollback. A rollback could set the game's controller state back to "not pressed" while you were still holding the button; the emulator then reports "no change" and the game kept the old state until you pressed or released something else. Presses were cut to one frame, ignored, or a button stayed held. It happened most at higher ping and when both players pressed at the same time (more rollbacks). The controller state is no longer rolled back.

Updating

  • From 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1 or 1.2.2: the launcher shows "Update to v1.2.3". One click.
  • From 1.0: download tekken6_rollback_patch.zip and extract it into your folder with Tekken6 Rollback.exe (overwrite the files).
  • The native code does NOT need to be built again.
  • New players: download tekken6_rollback.zip.

Both players must use the same version.

If something goes wrong, please send log\RPCS3.log and the newest file from rollback_log.

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2.2

@Ekspym Ekspym released this 09 Oct 16:43

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2.2 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN).

Fixes

  • No more double presses and lost presses online. A single button press sometimes counted twice, and sometimes a press did nothing, mostly right after a rollback (more often at higher ping or on a slower PC). The fight now gets "pressed" from what the button did in the previous fight frame, the same on both players' side.
  • Less stutter. The game waited 4-11 ms every frame for the drawing thread before saving its state; now ~0.2 ms. The full wait stays only before a rollback, so the visual glitches of the 1.2 test do not come back.

New: Fast mode for weaker PCs

  • In the launcher (Play page): "Fast mode (weaker PCs)". Rollback gets faster, but small graphical glitches can appear now and then. It does not affect sync: each player chooses on their own.

Launcher

  • Version 1.2.2, fast mode switch.

Updating

  • From 1.1, 1.2 or 1.2.1: the launcher shows "Update to v1.2.2".

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2.1

@Ekspym Ekspym released this 09 Oct 12:40

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2.1 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN).

Fixes

  • No more crash after a match. Sometimes the game crashed for both players when returning to the menu after a match (fios mediathread, 0x006c7694, the known issue of 1.2). The file loader's objects are no longer rolled back.
  • The game keeps 60 frames per second also at higher ping (1.2 dropped to 57-58 frames per second at ~50 ms ping).

Fewer rollbacks

  • Better prediction of the opponent's input: a button the opponent holds is predicted as held. The old prediction repeated the "just pressed" state of the previous frame, which caused a rollback one frame after almost every button press.

Launcher

  • Version 1.2.1.

Updating

  • From 1.1 or 1.2: the launcher shows "Update to v1.2.1". One click.
  • From 1.0: download tekken6_rollback_patch.zip and extract it into your folder with Tekken6 Rollback.exe (overwrite the files).
  • The native code does NOT need to be built again.
  • New players: download tekken6_rollback.zip.

Both players must use the same version.

Tip

  • Short drops of your internet connection (often Wi-Fi) show up as long rollbacks or a short freeze. A cable connection helps.

If something goes wrong, please send log\RPCS3.log and the newest file from rollback_log.

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2

@Ekspym Ekspym released this 08 Oct 17:28

Tekken 6 rollback v1.2 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN).

Fix

  • The game no longer runs faster than 60 frames per second. In 1.0 and 1.1 the native mode ran 62-64 frames per second after rollbacks (setting RB_DEFER_HANDOFF in play_online.bat, now off). Online, the side with more rollbacks then ran ahead of the other for whole matches: a rollback every few frames, stutter on one side and a "teleporting" opponent on the other. Tested online at ~14 ms and ~50 ms ping: much smoother.

Launcher

  • Update checks now understand three-part versions (e.g. 1.2.1), so small fixes can come as patch versions.

Updating

  • From 1.1: the launcher shows "Update to v1.2". One click.
  • From 1.0: download tekken6_rollback_patch.zip and extract it into your folder with Tekken6 Rollback.exe (overwrite the files).
  • The native code does NOT need to be built again.
  • New players: download tekken6_rollback.zip.

Both players must use the same version.

Known issue

  • Rarely (once in about 30 matches in our tests) the game crashes for both players when returning to the menu after a match (fios mediathread, 0x006c7694). It is the same in 1.0 and 1.1 and is being worked on. If it happens, please send log\RPCS3.log and the newest file from rollback_log.

Tekken 6 rollback v1.1

@Ekspym Ekspym released this 08 Oct 15:57

Tekken 6 rollback v1.1 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN).

Fixes

  • Time sync: the side that runs ahead of the other now really slows down. The catch-up after slow frames undid the time sync before. On a weaker PC the game then stayed 2-3 frames ahead for a whole match, with a rollback every few frames: constant stutter there and a "teleporting" opponent.
  • No more 200 ms freeze after some rollbacks (a wait for a SPURS job of a discarded timeline is limited to 20 ms).

New

  • The launcher checks for updates on start. When a newer version exists, an "Update" button appears. It replaces only the program files; the native code, the settings, the game and the firmware stay.

Updating from 1.0
Version 1.0 cannot update by itself yet. Download tekken6_rollback_patch.zip and extract it into your folder with Tekken6 Rollback.exe (overwrite the files). The native code does NOT need to be built again. From 1.1 on, updates go through the launcher.

New players: download tekken6_rollback.zip, see 1.0 for the steps. Both players must use the same version.

Tekken 6 rollback v1.0

@Ekspym Ekspym released this 08 Oct 14:08

Tekken 6 rollback netcode for RPCS3 (Tekken 6 USA, BLUS30359 with update 1.03, online over RPCN: Player Match and Ranked Match).

What it is

  • A modified RPCS3 that gives Tekken 6 online matches rollback netcode (the GGPO principle). Instead of waiting for the opponent's input, the game predicts it. When the prediction was wrong, it goes back a few frames and re-simulates them with the real input. Your own character is never rolled back.
  • The input delay is set automatically (1 frame up to ~100 ms ping). It can also be fixed to 1, 2 or 3 frames.
  • Native code: the game's code and two firmware libraries are converted to C++ and compiled once on your own PC. Rollbacks are then much faster and the game's music and sounds are not affected by them. The compiler and everything needed for it are in the package. Nothing else is downloaded.
  • The package contains nothing from the game or the PS3 firmware. Everyone uses their own copy.

How to use it

  1. Extract the zip into its own folder.
  2. Start Tekken6 Rollback.exe. It checks the firmware (4.93), the game, update 1.03 and the RPCN account and tells you what is missing.
  3. Build the native code with one button (usually 7–20 minutes, once).
  4. Choose the delay and press START GAME. In the game go to Online → Player Match.

Both players must use this same version. Guides: GUIDE_EN.txt (English), NAVOD_ONLINE.txt (Czech).
Requirements: Windows 10/11 x64, a CPU with AVX2.
