AnyController v1.2.0-beta.1
AnyController v1.2.0-beta.1
This is a beta release focused on expanding USB controller compatibility on jailbroken PS4 consoles. It introduces a generic HID parser, improves support for several controller protocols, and makes virtual controller initialization more reliable.
This is an early beta. Controller compatibility and firmware compatibility are still being tested, and community testing is welcome.
Highlights
- Direct virtual device access (VDA): Creates a virtual controller using device type 1, with temporary credential elevation and a guarded firmware 11.00 fallback patch for
scePadVirtualDeviceAddDevice. - Automatic USB interface detection: Recognizes Xbox 360, Xbox One/Series GIP, and standard HID gamepad interfaces.
- Generic HID support: Parses USB report descriptors to identify buttons, sticks, D-pads, and axes without requiring a profile for every controller model.
- Nintendo Switch Pro support: Decodes report
0x30, including buttons, D-pad, and 12-bit stick axes. - DualSense and DualSense Edge input: Adds basic input coverage for both controllers.
- More reliable initialization: The virtual controller is created only after the first valid input report is received.
- Per-source configuration: Improves controller-specific configuration handling and includes a workaround for Manba One V2 face-button mapping issues.
- Improved PC inspector tools: Better report capture, parsing, logging, and playback diagnostics.
- Expanded testing: 98 tests, 592 checks, and 0 failures.
Firmware Compatibility
AnyController uses a virtual device access (VDA) implementation intended to support multiple PS4 firmware versions.
Firmware 11.00 is the only version confirmed working with this release so far. Compatibility with other firmware versions remains unverified. Although the implementation is designed with broader compatibility in mind, it should not be considered confirmed until tested on real hardware.
For the latest controller and firmware test results, see COMPATIBILITY.md.
Important: Passing PC tests does not guarantee that a controller will work on a jailbroken PS4. Compatibility may depend on the console firmware, controller model, connection method, and operating mode.
Additional protocol and input paths are under development. Full input coverage for DEU, SCE, and CSTick has not yet been confirmed.
Controller Compatibility
Controller compatibility is still being tested across different models, connection methods, and operating modes.
Check COMPATIBILITY.md for the latest information on:
- Controllers confirmed working on a real PS4.
- Controllers tested on PC but not yet confirmed on PS4.
- Untested controllers and configurations.
- Firmware-specific test results and known issues.
If your controller is not listed, you can help by testing it and sharing your results.
Known Limitations
The following features are not currently implemented or have not been confirmed:
- DualSense adaptive triggers.
- Advanced haptics and vibration output.
- Lightbar and player indicator LEDs.
- Microphone mute control.
- Battery status reporting.
- Touchpad coordinates and gesture input.
Basic DualSense and DualSense Edge input support does not imply support for all their hardware features.
DualShock 4 controllers and controllers operating in DS4 mode are generally handled by the PS4's native controller driver rather than being the primary target of AnyController.
Installation
The general process is:
- Verify your PS4 firmware and GoldHEN setup.
- Obtain
AnyController.elffrom the release assets or build it using the repository instructions. - Follow the deployment guide to copy the payload to the correct location on your console.
- Load the payload through GoldHEN.
- Connect the controller to the PS4.
- Test the controls and report your results.
This is a beta release. If you encounter problems, provide diagnostic information rather than assuming the controller or firmware is incompatible.
Help Test Compatibility
Community testing is essential for expanding compatibility across different controllers, connection methods, operating modes, and PS4 firmware versions.

When reporting a test, include as much of the following information as possible:
- Controller model and connection method.
- Controller operating mode, if applicable.
- PS4 firmware version.
- GoldHEN version.
- Whether the controller is detected and whether its inputs work correctly.
- Relevant diagnostic logs or inspector captures.

Final Notes
AnyController is an ongoing compatibility project. This release expands input support and improves virtual controller initialization, but more testing is needed across different controllers and PS4 firmware versions.
If your controller does not work, please share your configuration and diagnostic logs. Your testing can help identify missing protocol support, resolve compatibility issues, and verify support on additional firmware versions.
AnyController Tools v1.0.0 - Windows + Linux
PC-side capture and analysis tools for AnyController.
This release does NOT include the payload.
Included:
- AnyController-dumper.elf
- AnyController-Inspector.exe (Windows)
- AnyController-Inspector-linux-x86_64 (static Linux x86_64)
- INSPECTOR.txt
- INSPECTOR-LINUX.txt
- setup-linux.sh
- run-linux.sh
What it does:
- Captures 30 seconds of controller input and analyzes buttons, sticks and triggers.
- Windows: run with no arguments or double-click the executable.
- Linux: make it executable and run it; sudo avoids installing anything.
- Also supports --list, --play, --selftest and --capture.
Linux:
chmod +x AnyController-Inspector-linux-x86_64
sudo ./AnyController-Inspector-linux-x86_64
