Poppy Playtime VR - Update Release

Get ready to experience Poppy Playtime like never before! This release contains the automated installer that will prepare and configure your game to enable full 6DOF Virtual Reality across all available chapters.

What's New

  • OpenVR Support: The mod now features native compatibility with the OpenVR standard alongside OpenXR.
  • Dual UEVR Support (Stable & Nightly): The launcher now securely downloads both the Stable and Nightly UEVR builds directly from their original repositories. You can choose which version to boot with using the new toggle in the top-left corner of the launcher.
    • Important Note: The Stable version is supported only up to Chapter 3. For any subsequent chapters, you must select the Nightly version, which is fully compatible with all chapters.
  • Chapter 1 Fix: Addressed and resolved an initialization bug in the installer that occasionally prevented the first chapter from launching correctly.

Recommended: Standard Web Installer (PoppyInstaller_VR.exe)
We highly recommend downloading the standard web installer from the assets below. This version ensures you always receive the latest updates, movement profiles, and bug fixes directly from the repositories.

💾 Full Offline Build (March 2026) - Fallback Only
In addition to the standard web installer, we have attached a Full Offline Installer. Please only use this version if the standard online installer fails for any reason. This is a frozen, fully self-contained package compiled in March 2026. It comes pre-packaged with all the necessary movement profiles, the complete UEVR engine, and every dependency required. It is specifically designed to run in environments with zero or poor internet connection, and serves as a permanent backup in case the original download services go offline or remote resources are ever deleted.

Quick Installation Guide

Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Download your chosen installer (Web Installer recommended, or Full Offline if needed) attached in the assets below.
  2. Run as Administrator to allow the installer to properly apply the necessary VR injection patches to the game files.
  3. Select your installation folder if the installer does not detect it automatically. This should point to your Poppy Playtime chapter folder, usually located in your Steam steamapps/common/ directory.
  4. Install and wait for the process to finish.
  5. Launch the game using the PoppyLauncherVR shortcut created on your desktop. From there, select your preferred UEVR version (top-left corner) and run any chapter you have installed. Running the game directly from Steam will start the standard flat-screen version.
  6. Enjoy exploring the Playtime Co. factory in full immersive VR!

Important Notes

  • You must own a legitimate, up-to-date copy of each chapter you intend to play on Windows.
  • Make sure your OpenXR or OpenVR runtime (Meta Quest Link, SteamVR, HTC, etc.) is active before launching the shortcut.
  • The launcher already includes the required profiles and settings for each chapter, no additional configuration is needed.
  • If you encounter any issues, please refer to the main repository README.
