Presets

Lost Tape Shader ships 13 hand-tuned presets. Select them with the profile button at the top of Shader Pack Settings.

Every preset sets all options — one click always produces a complete, consistent look with no leftovers from the previous preset.

Overview

Preset Mood Standout traits
Lost Tape (default) Balanced analog horror Fog, sickly green tint, grain, light PSX wobble
Director's Cut Dark & heavy Dense fog, fully swallowed sky, scanlines
Verity Grim, glitchy Very dark, crushed blacks, VHS glitch, strong shadows
Backrooms Wrong & washed out Yellow tint, faded blacks, fluorescent flicker, soft flat shadows
VHS Tape Noisy cassette Scanlines, wobble, sepia, strong chromatic aberration
Camcorder '98 Found footage Clear-ish shaky image, brighter nights, heavy vignette
PSX Horror PS1 survival horror Pixelation, 16 colors, hard shadows, fog at the camera
Silent Fog Silent-Hill White-grey total fog, very soft shadows, intense god rays
Dead Channel Broadcast dread Cold blue, deep dark, heavy vignette and grain
Old Film Pure nostalgia Strong sepia, desaturated, heavy grain, soft light
Sunless ARG endgame No sun, no moon — but the light shafts keep falling
Retro Arcade Fun, no horror Full colors, pixels + dithering, barely any fog
Faint Signal Subtle Light dread for normal survival play

Preset design notes

  • Verity and Dead Channel raise torch brightness to 1.5 so light sources punch through the darkness.
  • PSX Horror is the only preset with vertex snapping on mobs — authentic PS1 jitter. Turn off Snap Mobs/Entities under Retro / PSX if modded round entities look deformed.
  • Sunless hides both sun and moon while keeping volumetric light at full strength with maximum shadow-streak contrast — light with no source.
  • Retro Arcade and Faint Signal are meant for actually playing the game; everything else prioritizes atmosphere.

Making your own preset

  1. Start from the preset closest to what you want
  2. Adjust options — see Settings
  3. Iris saves your tweaks automatically to shaderpacks/Lost_Tape_v1.4.zip.txt

Back up that .txt to keep your custom look across reinstalls.
