v1.4.0
What's new:
- Landscape now runs as fast as portrait. It used to lag when you moved pieces with the board turned sideways — that's fixed. Checkers, dice and markers are drawn as small sprites and the board is kept in the screen's own pixel order, so it redraws quickly either way.
- Fixed the Roll button being too small in landscape, and the board now goes back to whatever orientation you started the game in.
Install: download backgammon.koplugin.zip, unzip it, and drop the backgammon.koplugin folder into KOReader's plugins folder, then restart KOReader.
v1.3.0
What's new:
- Doubling cube — optional, off by default; turn it on in Board & colours. Offer a double before you roll, take or drop; the computer handles its own doubles.
- Take back a move — an Undo button shows up once you've moved a checker, until the turn passes.
- Games are saved when you close and offered again as Resume game.
- It asks before you abandon a game with Menu or New game.
- Cleaner difficulty picker and rounded buttons in-game.
- Post-game review now shows the change in your winning chances.
- Smoother play — tighter screen refreshes so moves and highlights keep up.

v1.1.0
First stable release with computer opponents.
Since 1.0.0:
- Play the computer at five difficulty levels, from a loose beginner to a neural-net master. Levels 4 and 5 use GNU Backgammon's network.
- A setup screen to pick two players or the computer, and a Menu button to switch back mid-game.
- The computer's moves are paced so they're easy to follow, with a clear message when it has no legal move.
Now licensed under GPL-3.0-or-later (see LICENSE and NOTICE.md).
v1.2.0
New in this release:
- Two-player "flip board each turn": an option so the board turns to face whoever is on move, instead of one player reading it upside down. Off by default; turn it on in Board & colours.
- Post-game review: after a game, tap Review to see where each side lost the most ground against the neural net, in standard notation.
- Lifetime statistics: games played, current and best win streak, and a won/played record for each difficulty. Reached from the start menu.
- Turkish interface: the whole UI can be set to Türkçe (or left on Auto to follow the device). Change it in Board & colours.
Fixes: - The Roll button on the board spine is now a compact button instead of an oversized white box.
- New "Board & colours" screen on the start menu: choose whether player 1 plays White or Black and which bottom corner they bear off to. The board layout, colours and labels follow the choice, which is saved for next time.
