Release list
Fallback v0.1.0
First test build of LiveCollab.
Download the file for your Mac:
- Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) — LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-9cdb9ec-release.zip
- Intel — LiveCollab-Intel-9cdb9ec-release.zip
Not sure which? Apple menu → About This Mac. If it says "Apple M…", use Apple Silicon.
LiveCollab isn't signed by Apple yet, so macOS will warn you the first time you open it.
Instructions: livecollab.dev
Early test build. macOS only.
Livecollab v0.1.2
Scroll down to Assets and click the file for your Mac.
- LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-fca3134-release.zip — for Macs with an Apple chip
- LiveCollab-Intel-fca3134-release.zip — for older Macs with an Intel chip
To check which one you have: Apple menu > About This Mac. Look at the "Chip" line.
If it starts with the word Apple (for example "Apple M1", "Apple M2 Pro", "Apple M4"),
take the Apple Silicon file. If it says Intel, take the Intel file.
What's new: the menu bar works inside a room — Save, Command Palette, Terminal and
the View menu all respond now. Copy and paste work everywhere.
Still not working: Undo and Select All from the menu, and the menu bar on the
dashboard. Both are being fixed next.

LiveCollab 0.1.5
Apple Silicon: LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-cea88b2-release.zip
Intel: LiveCollab-Intel-cea88b2-release.zip
Fixed
- Undo, Redo and Select All now work from the Edit and Selection menus
while you're typing in the editor. Before this they did nothing unless
you used the keyboard shortcut. - They still behave normally in the dashboard's text fields.
Installing
- Unzip and drag LiveCollab.app to your Applications folder.
Open it from Applications, not from Downloads. - macOS checks the app first, which can take a minute. You'll then get one
of two messages: if it has an Open button, click Open and you're done.
If it doesn't, click Done, then go to System Settings > Privacy &
Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. - Updates are manual during early access. I'll let you know when there's
a new build.
Verify your download (optional)
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-cea88b2-release.zip
It should match the hash above.
Undo, Redo and Select All now work from the menu bar.

LiveCollab 0.1.4
Apple Silicon: LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-23937f5-release.zip
Intel: LiveCollab-Intel-23937f5-release.zip
Changed
- Removed the workspace commands that don't apply to LiveCollab. A room
decides which folder is open, so these never had a job to do here and
could leave the editor in a broken state: Close Workspace, Close Folder
(and its Cmd+K F shortcut), Open Workspace from File, Save Workspace As,
Duplicate Workspace, and Open File in Empty Workspace. - They are gone from the File menu, the Command Palette and the keyboard
shortcuts. Nothing was removed from the app itself — if any of them gets
a version that works with rooms, it comes back.
Unchanged
- Open Folder, and adding a folder to the open room.
- Your files and unsaved changes.
Installing
- Unzip and drag LiveCollab.app to your Applications folder.
Open it from Applications, not from Downloads. - macOS checks the app first, which can take a minute. You'll then get one
of two messages: if it has an Open button, click Open and you're done.

Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. - Updates are manual during early access. I'll let you know when there's
a new build.

Removes the upstream workspace commands that don't apply to a room-based editor.
LiveCollab 0.1.3
Apple Silicon: LiveCollab-AppleSilicon-release.zip
Intel: LiveCollab-Intel-release.zip
Fixed
- Commands that tried to replace the open folder from inside the editor
could shut the editor down while leaving it on screen, so anything typed
afterwards was lost on quit. Those commands are now refused and the
editor stays live. This covers Close Workspace, Open Workspace from File,
and workspace files opened from Open Recent, Finder or the command line.
Unchanged
- Open Folder works as before.
- Your files and unsaved changes are untouched when a command is refused.
Installing
- Unzip and drag LiveCollab.app to your Applications folder.
Open it from Applications, not from Downloads. - macOS will say it can't verify the developer. Open System Settings >
Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. - Updates are manual during early access. I'll let you know when there's
a new build.
