Simplify folder structure of input data

I think the folder structure of the input data is overly complicated, with too many nested folders. Better would be to change the input folder to global_inputs, which is more descriptive, and have a top-level folder for each sector (no technodata folder). All of this is configurable in the settings file, and there's currently nothing stopping users from doing it this way, but I think we should change the example models to make things easier for new users

Thanks for posting this! The folder structure of the input should exactly mirror the structure and naming of the settings dictionary. On that basis, the "input" folders in the examples should be called 'global_input_files' in keeping with the corresponding settings key.

Similarly "Results" could be changed to 'outputs', folders for preset sectors to "{sector_name}_presets", etc.

One exception I can think of is the agents file. If you have a separate file for each sector/subsector, then fair enough this should be in the folder for that sector/subsector. But more commonly I see people using a single agents file and linking to it from all sectors. In this case I think the only reasonable place to put this file is at the top level of the folder
