PipeDuck 1.1.0
PipeDuck 1.1.0 makes ducking react faster and follow the audio graph instead of polling it.
Highlights:
- Group playback streams by application and microphones by device in the tray menus.
- Refresh the Source, Microphone and tuning menus automatically when streams, devices or the config change.
- Follow default-output changes while ducking is active.
- Never overwrite a default sink change made by the user when ducking stops.
- Read PulseAudio/PipeWire state from one libpulse event subscription instead of spawning
pactl. - Add a separate
mic_vad_thresholdsetting, CLI override and tuner control. - Make volume fades non-blocking so speech during a return fade immediately ducks again from the current volume.
- Add DBusMenu/StatusNotifierItem integration tests run under
dbus-run-session.
See CHANGELOG.md for the complete list.
PipeDuck 1.0.0
First release of PipeDuck, a C++20 reimplementation of pw-duck.
Highlights:
- Automatic ducking of non-call playback on PipeWire.
- Voice-call, microphone, or either-source detection.
- Smoothstep fade-down and smooth return to the correct volume.
- Working right-click tray menu with Trigger, Source, Microphone, Tuner, Ducking and Quit.
- Submenus stay open while you choose an option.
- New PipeDuck logo and complete icon set (application, symbolic, tray idle/active, 22 px).
- Terminal and GTK4 tuners with live config reload.
- Safe virtual-sink routing and stream restore.
- CLI diagnostics and TOML configuration compatible with pw-duck.
The tray menu implements the DBusMenu root-item layout and AboutToShow semantics used by libdbusmenu, ksni and the GNOME AppIndicator extension. See CHANGELOG.md for details.
