MigMouse v0.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@Eric-kbo Eric-kbo released this 26 Aug 08:25

What’s new

  • Eliminates the unsafe MTDeviceStop teardown path behind the observed runtime crashes.
  • Uses safe process-level recovery after Mac wake and from the troubleshooting menu.
  • Adds launch at login with clear macOS approval handling.
  • Removes false stale-device reconnects during normal pointer movement.
  • Keeps tap-to-click, secondary click, and native pinch-to-zoom behavior unchanged.

Install

Download MigMouse-v0.1.2.zip, unzip it, and move MigMouse.app to Applications. The build is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions are still required on first use.

MigMouse v0.1.1

Choose a tag to compare

@Eric-kbo Eric-kbo released this 26 Aug 03:05

MigMouse v0.1.1 is the first Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized release. It opens normally on macOS without using Open Anyway.

What’s new

  • Two-finger pinch-to-zoom with native macOS magnification events
  • More reliable Magic Mouse reconnection and permission handling
  • Preserves the original bundle identifier across source builds
  • Universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs

Install

  1. Download MigMouse-v0.1.1.zip.
  2. Unzip it and move MigMouse.app to Applications.
  3. Double-click MigMouse to open it.
  4. Grant Accessibility and Input Monitoring when macOS asks, then quit and reopen MigMouse.

Apple notarization removes the Gatekeeper “unidentified developer” warning, but macOS privacy permissions are still required for touch input and synthetic clicks. Users upgrading from an older development-signed build may need to grant these permissions once more.

@Eric-kbo Eric-kbo released this 25 Aug 09:03

MigMouse's first public release — trackpad-style tapping for Apple Magic Mouse.

Features

  • One-finger tap to left-click
  • Two-finger tap or right-side tap to right-click
  • Two-finger pinch to zoom
  • Automatic recovery when the Magic Mouse touch connection becomes unresponsive
  • Adjustable tap recognition and right-click zone
  • Native menu bar app
  • 12 interface languages
  • No analytics, telemetry, accounts, or network access

Requirements

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later
  • Apple Magic Mouse
  • Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions
  • Universal build for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs

Installation

  1. Download MigMouse-0.1.0-macOS.zip below.
  2. Unzip it and move MigMouse.app into the Applications folder.
  3. Try to open MigMouse once.
  4. If macOS blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway.
  5. Grant MigMouse Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions.
  6. Reopen MigMouse if macOS requests it. MigMouse runs in the menu bar and does not appear in the Dock.

MigMouse is signed with the developer's Apple Development certificate but is not notarized by Apple. Only download it from this official repository.

Updating from the earlier v0.1.0 download

The original v0.1.0 asset used an ad-hoc signature. If permissions remain unavailable after replacing it, remove the old MigMouse entries from Privacy & Security → Accessibility and Input Monitoring, add the new /Applications/MigMouse.app, enable both permissions, and reopen MigMouse. This is a one-time migration to the stable developer-signed identity.
