English

NUTBOOK is a local reader, library manager, and presentation tool for AI-generated work. It turns research reports, lesson materials, competitive analyses, client proposals, Markdown documents, and interactive HTML presentations scattered across project folders, Agent tasks, Skill outputs, and downloads into a local library you can read, organize, lightly edit, and present.

All content and indexes stay on your machine. NUTBOOK does not replace an Agent or manage its execution. It takes over after generation, when an output is worth reading, editing, and reusing again.

Core capabilities

  • Multi-source intake: add local folders and individual Markdown or HTML files; discover outputs from Codex, Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes, WorkBuddy, and other Agent projects or tasks; scan content Skill outputs; and add or remove files, folders, and projects through the Nutbook CLI.
  • Markdown reading and light editing: document outline, formatting tools, tables, image insertion and alignment, undo/redo, save, and unsaved-change protection. Markdown files opened from the system first enter a temporary session and can be explicitly added to the library when needed.
  • Interactive HTML runtime and light editing: preserves original page JavaScript interactions and supports window-level fullscreen. Supported pages allow text and rich-text edits plus image replacement, cropping, moving, and insertion. Ordinary HTML receives an editable sibling copy so the original remains protected.
  • Local library management: generates thumbnails for Markdown and HTML; supports favorites, custom tags, Skill tags, type filters, and recent items. The file system is the source of truth, so external additions, edits, and deletions are reflected in the library.
  • Agent integration and local CLI: detects, enables, repairs, or removes confirmed Agent integrations. It does not change PATH or silently overwrite files with uncertain ownership, and CLI operations never delete source files.

Who it is for

  • Teachers creating course materials, handouts, cases, or presentations with Agents
  • Students and researchers collecting paper notes, research logs, and phased reports
  • Business, consulting, and strategy professionals organizing competitive analyses, market research, proposals, and client materials
  • Anyone using several Agents, Skills, or local content-generation tools and wanting to preserve useful outputs over time

Current scope

  • Supported formats: Markdown and HTML.
  • NUTBOOK focuses on reading, light editing, organizing, and presenting AI outputs. It is not a general file manager or a heavyweight authoring tool.
  • Native HTML editing depends on page support and does not promise to rebuild the layout or scripts of arbitrary web pages.
  • Cloud sync, online collaboration, and RAG knowledge bases are not currently included.

Installation

  • macOS: choose the installer for your chip architecture: Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4 and later) or Intel.
  • Windows: download and run the Windows installer.
  • On first launch in macOS, if the system cannot verify the developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and select Open Anyway or Allow.
