Ultimate Lemmings 2.2.2
Ultimate Lemmings 2.2.2
Build: 99
Release commit: fea37bf
Release base: v2.2.1
Made for Duo. Refined everywhere.
Duo has driven a wider round of improvements to Ultimate Lemmings. Version 2.2.2
gives its changing displays more care, while improving the shared experience on
Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
More room on Duo
Menus and gameplay use the full front display, with controls arranged around
camera cutouts. Layouts adapt between the outer screen and divided inner display.
Desk Clock opens reliably from Home and fills the active display. Tent Pose can
open it during a game, preserving the attempt and pausing play until you choose Resume.
The clock follows your display brightness, offers optional red night vision and
improves how its lemmings move around the digits and reach their doorway.
A clearer route through the game
Shared navigation gives menus a consistent route home and keeps Back controls
within reach on long pages. Cancelling an action returns to the page you came
from. Hot Seat handovers still wait for Ready.
The fan library groups learning levels, magazines and books, community
collections, ports and remakes. Numbered packs stay together in order. Your
progress, favourites and saved runs keep their existing identities.
Winning a Golden Path lesson also credits the level in its original collection.
Existing saved wins receive the same credit without another playthrough.
Familiar stone, clearer controls
Shared buttons use rock artwork drawn from the original Macintosh game.
Gameplay controls have distinct faces, readable symbols and consistent states
across Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Touch controls make overlapping lemmings easier to browse. Revised mobile replay
controls keep the title compact, skills visible and camera movement within reach.
On Mac, crowded playfields gain subtle sprite separation at closer zoom levels.
Platforms and scope
The release covers Mac on Apple silicon and Intel, iPhone, iPad, Duo and Apple TV,
with the existing TestFlight and AltStore Classic channels. Apple processing and
Beta Review determine external TestFlight availability.
Classic and The Tribes remain Complete. Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta
with their documented limits. Mobile Journey still plays Classic levels.
Physical-device acceptance retains its recorded limits. The release record
distinguishes automated checks from device acceptance and records delivery status.

A clock at home
Mac Desk Clock widgets now start correctly after installation. Clock artwork
fills each widget size. Full-colour and tinted desktop appearances keep the
clock visible; monochrome appearances show its pixel silhouette.
Widgets update through the system timeline. Open Desk Clock in the app for
continuous animation.
Pause when you press
The mobile touch HUD pauses on touch-down. Releasing the same press keeps the
game paused. Resume presents the frozen playfield before the next game tick
and discards time spent paused. These timing fixes apply to Classic, The Tribes
and Chronicles, including fast play. Hot Seat still waits for Ready.
Platforms and scope
Mac build 98 supports Apple silicon and Intel on macOS 12.3 or later.
iPhone, iPad and Duo use build 21 on iOS 16 or later. Apple TV uses build 11.
The existing TestFlight groups and AltStore Classic source continue.
Classic and The Tribes remain Complete. Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta
with their documented limits. Mobile Journey still plays Classic levels.
Physical-device acceptance retains its recorded limits. Apple processing and
Beta Review determine external TestFlight availability.

A little time for lemmings
Desk Clock shows the time in Classic Macintosh pixels. Lemmings rebuild the
digits each minute. When you allow calendar access, the clock can show the next
event and a countdown. Open it from the iPhone or iPad app, or add the widget
to an iPhone, iPad or Mac. The clock stays silent and does not enter a game.
On Duo, the clock can open when the app is idle in a supported pose. The app
uses available screen regions to place its controls. A layout change cancels
an unfinished touch gesture. Gameplay and Hot Seat Ready handovers remain
under player control.
Easier to read and choose
Reading pages leave more space between paragraphs and limit the text width.
Mobile settings group related choices and show checked states. Cursor style,
paused inspection and Hot Seat ghost visibility now have explicit controls.
Mac Desk Clock widgets join the existing desktop app.
Narrow menus keep button words intact at large text sizes. Return and forward
actions stack when the screen needs more room. Calendar details clear when the
clock closes or the app becomes inactive. Cancelled reads cannot restore them.
Bundled browsing and shuffle omit four exact fan levels with impossible rescue
conditions on Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Original archives and imported
copies remain available.
What carries forward
Classic and The Tribes remain Complete. Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta
with their documented content and engine limits. The mobile Journey still
plays Classic levels. The Desk Clock uses Classic Macintosh art.
Mac supports Apple silicon and Intel on macOS 12.3 or later. iPhone and iPad
need iOS 16 or later. Apple TV remains in the existing TestFlight channel.
Physical Duo, widget gallery, calendar permission and device acceptance need
checks on the signed builds. TestFlight processing and beta review determine
when the mobile builds become available.
AltStore Classic
iPhone and iPad: add the Ultimate Lemmings source in AltStore Classic. The attached UltimateLemmings-2.2-build20-ios.ipa is the unchanged 2.2 build 20 export from the release commit above and requires iOS 16 or later.
Installation and signing limits. AltStore device installation, widget acceptance and re-signed cloud/Game Center access remain unverified.

Pull up a chair. We've got a level to finish.
This update smooths the small things around the puzzles. Pick up your game,
pass the controls and give that extremely promising bridge another go.
Pick up where you left off
Home has one Resume for your selected player or Hot Seat. Campaign and Journey
wins count each level once, so your hard-won clears get their due. Journey Map
still lets you browse without starting a game.
New mobile Journey and playlist saves keep their exact place. Starting the same
playlist again gives you a fresh run. Solo and Hot Seat sequel progress stay
separate, and Ready handovers wait until the next player is settled.
Get a closer look
Mac wheel zoom moves smoothly around the terrain beneath your pointer.
Extra Skill is now called Bonus Skill. The stone controls sit together at the
playfield's top-right corner, clear of the score.
Mobile replay panels leave the controls room to breathe. Apple TV gets a fix for controller selection, while Ready still waits for a
fresh press. Mobile play also drops interrupted pinch and scroll gestures
after a resize, and keeps Start or Ready waiting when the playfield returns.
Small pixels, plenty of care
The interface has refined 2× Lemmings lettering and separately drawn 4×
countdown numerals. Even counting to three got some attention.
The welcome and optional help have a warmer voice too. There's room for another
idea, and time to ask for a nudge. Retry, Continue and Ready stay easy to find.
Meet the neighbours
Individual lemmings have 128 little ten-word stories: a spare chair, an
unanswered letter, a surprisingly important spoon. Their names and stories stay
with them through retries, rewind and saved runs. No committee has explained
why the spoon matters.
Keep the evening going
New mobile saves start with a backup. Recovery protects damaged saves and saves
from a newer version. Sequel cloud progress keeps The Tribes' survivor chains
together, and Chronicles remembers its tribes when you change the language.
Background cloud and community-record services stay quiet when they cannot
access their stored credentials. Your game can carry on without an unexpected
authorisation dialog.
Come back tomorrow. We can carry on arguing about the tunnel.
Before you settle in
Mac build 96 supports Apple silicon and Intel on macOS 12.3 or later. iOS build
19 and tvOS build 9 use the existing TestFlight channels; Apple processing and
beta review remain separate from upload completion.
Classic and The Tribes retain Complete. Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta,
with their existing content and engine limits. The mobile Journey is
Classic-only. Mid-level checkpoints and ordinary playlist queues stay local.
Older saves without queue identities retain their existing matching rules;
older shared sequel history cannot reliably be reassigned to past sessions.
The release checklist keeps the detailed
scope, ongoing replay and level work, and remaining device, accessibility,
translation and live-sync checks together.

Release base: v2.1
Journey progress
Home completion counts now include Journey wins alongside the selected session's
campaign wins. A level solved through both routes counts once. Displaying the
counts does not unlock campaign levels or alter the saved campaign.
Older Mac Hot Seat journeys recover recorded outcomes for past visits from the
retained save or its matching pre-upgrade backup. A resume position alone does
not establish a win. The older format shared outcomes with solo play and cannot
prove which turn earned each outcome. Missing history cannot be reconstructed.
The original history, resume position and current turn remain intact.
Automatic worldwide records
Players sharing counts participate in worldwide rankings automatically, without
opening Worldwide or taking a second opt-in step. Eligible saved records queue
at launch; new results and retained action replays use the existing upload flow.
Public records include player initials, scores and action replays. Explicit
record-sharing opt-outs and removed records stay off. Privacy and consent pages
now describe the combined choice. Game Center remains optional and separate.
Inspection and presentation
- Paused lemming inspection has its own saved preference. Mac hover and Command-I
open the individual's recorded history. Fictional character details do not
affect simulation or establish an identity across levels. - Modern pointer arrows wrap cleanly at the playfield edges, including NeoLemmix.
- HDR presentation keeps reduced-flash and performance limits. Rendering changes
do not establish physical display acceptance. - Fan browsing recognises the retained pack identities and current route evidence.
Additional checked routes do not certify the unfinished fan corpus.
Latest merged changes
- Chronicles combines the current source-derived Mole patrol cadence with its
initial settle and steel-contact timing. Recovery hashes include the retained
Mole state. Existing route gaps remain explicit. - Fan browsing uses the current bundled-playable exclusion manifest. The exact
no-exit level stays in its source archive and is omitted from playable bundled
scope. Imported copies retain their existing handling. - The menu normally plays the Macintosh theme when available. Amiga is the
fallback and remains in the alternative theme pool.
iOS and Apple TV TestFlight
The companion TestFlight version is 2.1.1: iOS build 18 and tvOS build 8. Both use
the shared mobile frontend. Mobile Journey playback remains Classic-only.
Physical touch, remote/controller focus, VoiceOver, live cloud propagation and
sustained device performance retain their documented acceptance limits. TestFlight
processing and beta review are separate from successful upload.
Compatibility and validation boundaries
Mac requires macOS 12.3 or later and includes Apple silicon and Intel code.
Classic and The Tribes retain their Complete classifications. Chronicles and
NeoLemmix remain Beta. Existing original-engine fidelity, L2 Gold Ark, L3 route,
NeoLemmix style and unverified fan-level limits remain open. New translated
captions use explicit English fallbacks pending human language review.
Release checks, remaining acceptance limits and distribution receipts are
recorded separately.

Release commit: 4f40758
Release base: v2.0.7
Comfortable play, original character
- Basic 2× Zoom is free in Classic, The Tribes and Chronicles. It has no balance
or failure cost. Existing earned Superzoom balances remain separate. - Original and Modern now choose presentation. They preserve control, controller,
interruption and assistance preferences. New profiles use restrained defaults
and start without a required presentation-choice page. - Help says General coaching and No level-specific hints available. when
an exact checked hint is absent. Checked routes remain deliberate examples. - Results keep career accounting and reward reasons in optional review. Phone
and TV award rows stay still until selected. - Optional Ridiculous speed adds a 25× tier to the existing speed controls.
It starts off and retains the usual effect limits. - Modern assignment pointers use distinct empty, eligible and unavailable shapes
as well as colour. Original cursor artwork remains unchanged. - About includes offline original-team and port credits, with original and
recreated artwork distinguished. - Short games offers optional five-level openings with exact source checks.
Mac supports Classic and The Tribes with isolated survivor carry-over;
mobile/TV supports Classic. Unavailable sequel choices explain their limits.
Optional individual inspection
Pause to inspect a lemming in Classic, The Tribes or Chronicles. Names,
small fictional preferences and recorded assignments stay outside simulation.
On Mac, hover while paused or choose Inspect for the longer history. Rewind
follows the current timeline. Hot Seat inspection keeps the current owner and
Ready boundary. Names do not establish identity across levels.
Rare Extra skills
Earn one Extra skill for every ten distinct qualifying three-star clears.
Spend at most one per attempt to top up an existing finite skill or active L3
tool carrier. Bonus clears can advance the campaign, with separate records.
They cannot earn consumables, career stars or achievements, alter standard
rescue maxima, or enter online rankings. Charges persist through retry,
rewind, restore and cloud merge.
Your journey, safely saved
Journey Map and Resume stay with the selected session. Solo and Hot Seat lesson
progress remain separate. Opening a map preserves the player, roster and turn.
An unrelated saved run no longer takes over the current journey.
Cloud saves now carry Journey queues, current positions, fan-level completion
and Mac L2 carry-over snapshots with their owning session. Cleared Journey queues
remain cleared when an older device reconnects. Incoming progress waits for a
safe menu, and Hot Seat handovers stay paused until Ready.
Smoother sync
Credential access, encryption and cloud-state writes run in the background to
keep menus responsive. Credential merges preserve newly linked libraries.
Partial uploads and saves made during an upload remain pending until they reach
the linked libraries.
Tester Sync offers one-button setup for the shared tester library. Setup survives
relaunch and works offline. The page shows Syncing, Synced, Saved on this device
or Offline separately from the enabled state. The shared library includes all
players, solo progress and saved Hot Seats, including inactive sessions.
Clearer navigation and controls
- Start an official level from its Play Insights row using mouse, keyboard or
accessibility. Normal availability and campaign unlock rules still apply. - Browse individual releases in About with a separate notes pane, larger
selection targets and clearer headings and lists. The installed release's
notes are available offline before the update feed is published. - The Zoom action and Superzoom/skip counters fade with the gameplay menu in Classic,
The Tribes and Chronicles. - Amiga Versus shows its requirement for two simultaneously connected
controllers before play.
Compatibility and scope
macOS 12.3 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel. Classic and The Tribes retain
their Complete classifications. Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta.
Existing engine, content and rescue-target verification limits remain in force.
Both devices need the updated archive reader to exchange Journey snapshots.
Mobile Journey playback remains Classic-only. Sequel steps and Mac L2
carry-over data are retained without switching into a solo session.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV builds are separate from this Mac release.
New interface text uses English fallback where translation review is pending.
Live cross-device propagation, physical input, VoiceOver, newcomer playtests,
audible tone and composited device output remain unverified. L3 Short games
and mobile sequel playlist playback remain unavailable. Existing L3 route
gaps and engine-fidelity limits remain recorded in release scope.

Release base: v2.0.6
Safer count reset
Clearing this Mac's play counts now asks ARE YOU SURE?, with Back selected.
Restore previous counts recovers the preceding totals and keeps rescues
earned after the reset.
About and supporters
About now has tabs for published version history and contributor credits.
Version history works offline. Contributor credits refresh from the server,
with a saved list available when offline.
Donate is available on Home and in About. Thank you to tobiasampersand and
hays60 for supporting Ultimate Lemmings. Public credits show opted-in names
in contribution order and keep amounts private.
Menu music
Most launches now play the Amiga title theme. The occasional alternative can
include the Macintosh theme and recordings from other versions.
Earlier 2.0 updates
Earlier updates added Original Macintosh 1-bit artwork, resumed journeys and
playlists, Classic ghost solutions, Hot Seat ghosts, clearer worldwide level
identification, controller stepping and faster drawing, records and results.
See the About version-history tab for the published notes.
Compatibility and scope
This release publishes the universal macOS app for Apple silicon and Intel,
with macOS 12.3 or later. The slim fresh-install download includes essential
music and offers optional soundtrack libraries. Automatic updates retain the
full soundtrack.
Classic and The Tribes retain their Complete classifications. Chronicles and
NeoLemmix remain Beta. Existing device and engine validation limits remain
documented. Release gates were approved by the release owner for this quick
patch. Engine, gameplay and launch tests were not rerun.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV are not published by this Mac release. Their source
includes the shared Donate action and simulator effect/pointer fixes for a
later device build.
Packaging note
The existing rescue-target proof certificates do not match this source fingerprint.
The app keeps those targets unverified. No engine verification was rerun for this patch.
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.6
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.6 for Macintosh
Build: 90
Release commit: 237a5c2
Release base: v2.0.4
iOS and iPadOS: 2.0.6 build 16 (TestFlight)
tvOS: 2.0.6 build 6 (TestFlight)
This release makes play smoother and adds light to the Macintosh arrows on HDR
displays. It also includes the unpublished 2.0.5 changes. These notes
summarise every 2.0 update, so players who skipped a patch can see all the
changes.
Smoother play
The playfield, the minimap and the skill panel draw faster. With Macintosh
artwork on a P3 display, the panel draw time fell from 3.9 ms to 1.65 ms.
Classic and NeoLemmix redraws between ticks reuse their colour-matched pixels.
A level result no longer pauses the game when you have a long play history.
The career leaderboard and the result screen reuse earlier analysis. A new
level starts without a full records write on the main thread. Cloud progress
no longer rewrites its local file when nothing has changed.
Saved records, attempts and leaderboards keep the same format. Earlier saves
load without changes.
Shining arrows
On an HDR display, Classic one-way arrows in Macintosh colour artwork catch the
light on their upper and left edges. The peak is 1.5 times SDR white, or less
when the screen has less headroom. SDR screens show the same pixels as before.
Menu music
Most launches play the Amiga or the Macintosh title theme. One launch in eight
plays the title theme from another version of the game. To turn the menu theme
off, clear Settings > Audio > Main menu: Play main theme.
The tracker music no longer crackles at startup. Before, each launch and focus
event restarted the fade-in of the menu theme.
Controller steps
Hold LT + LB / RB (Create + L1 / R1 on Apple TV) to scrub one tick at a time.
On a DualSense, slide a finger left or right on the touchpad to step back or
forward. Each step gives a light haptic tick. This works in Classic, The Tribes
and Chronicles on Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Pointer
The Amiga cross now shows around gameplay in every pointer style, in Classic,
The Tribes and Chronicles. Menus keep the system arrow.
Earlier 2.0.5 changes
- The death counter's skull no longer shrinks the gameplay status text.
- With Macintosh graphics, a lemming jumps into the centre of the drawn exit.
Replays and saves do not change. - In Chronicles, a Mole that touches steel follows the original game more
closely. The bundled Chronicles routes keep their 2.0.4 results.
Earlier 2.0 updates
- 2.0: Original Macintosh 1-bit artwork with a matching monochrome
gameplay panel. Journeys and sequence playlists resume the saved attempt.
Classic can show an optional ghost solution. Seven added language packs use
the original bitmap fonts. - 2.0.2: Hot Seat retries show earlier players' latest attempts as coloured
ghosts. Retry actions and rewards use clearer grouping. - 2.0.3: Language buttons accept clicks across their full width.
- 2.0.4: Worldwide Classic leaderboard entries identify the exact level. A
revised journey no longer repeats its opening levels. Classic, The Tribes and
NeoLemmix levels use less processing time.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
These builds go to TestFlight external testers.
- Hot Seat ghosts: Each earlier player's latest turn shows as a translucent
ghost behind the live lemmings, as on the Mac. Classic, Lemmings 2 and
Lemmings 3 record their commands in the shared action format. - Home: The Home footer reads Players, Progress and Playlists. Progress
holds Records, Achievements, Worldwide and Play Insights. - Records: A record card shows the level artwork, stars, statistics and
achievements. Replay plays the newest kept action replay for a Classic
record. Hints opens the level hint cards. - Pause: Hint is the first pause action in Classic, Lemmings 2 and
Lemmings 3. Pause > Hint > Ghost solution turns on the Classic ghost. - Macintosh music: The apps now include the Macintosh song bank. Choose the
Macintosh soundtrack in Settings. - Faster drawing: The GPU now scales the playfield. One iPad-sized draw
took 7–9 ms on the CPU before. - Apple TV Top Shelf: The still shows at once. The clip follows when it is
ready. - Cloud saves: Testers on different accounts can share one library with a
sync password. This is a testing aid and will be removed before the final
release.
Compatibility and known limits
The public app targets Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 12.3 or later.
The slim fresh-install download contains essential music and offers optional
soundtrack libraries. Automatic updates retain the full soundtrack.
Classic and The Tribes retain their published Complete classifications.
Chronicles and NeoLemmix remain Beta.
Monochrome Macintosh art, Apple TV and CRT mode have no arrow glints. A lemming
that walks over a lit arrow edge also gets the added light. NeoLemmix has no
Hot Seat ghosts. Lemmings 2, Lemmings 3 and NeoLemmix have no Records playback.
The eight translated language packs remain AI-assisted drafts. Human language
review, physical controllers, VoiceOver, audible listening, minimum-OS and Intel
hardware, HDR appearance and live cross-device synchronisation retain their
recorded validation gaps. Camera panning and sustained frame timing on older
iPad, Apple TV and Intel Mac hardware need device validation.
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.4
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.4 for Macintosh
Build: 87
Release commit: dd0f157
Release base: v2.0.3
This maintenance release fixes worldwide leaderboard verification and saved
journeys. It also makes the game simulations faster.
Worldwide leaderboards
A Classic leaderboard entry now records a fingerprint of the exact level.
The fingerprint includes terrain, steel, entrances, traps, exits, skills and
counters. Previously, a route from a different level with the same terrain and
counters could pass verification. Entries recorded before this update still
verify.
Journey
A revised journey no longer repeats its opening levels for a saved run.
Previously, a change in the journey order queued every level that the run had
not visited, starting again from the first level.
The journey now resumes after the furthest level that you reached in the new
order. Earlier levels that you skipped appear in Come back to these. They do
not count as wins. Levels that you won in the journey or in a Classic campaign
do not come back.
Performance
Classic, The Tribes and NeoLemmix levels use less processing time. Classic
replays with blockers run up to a third faster. Level results, replays and
saved runs are unchanged.
Language selection
The 2.0.3 language fix is retained. Open Settings > Gameplay > Language.
Select a language to preview it. Choose Apply to save the choice or
Back to restore the previous language.
This update does not change level content
or the existing campaign and source-fidelity limits.
The eight translated language packs remain AI-assisted drafts. Human language
review, physical controllers, VoiceOver, audible listening, minimum-OS and Intel
hardware, HDR appearance and live cross-device synchronisation retain their
recorded validation gaps. Mobile and TV releases have separate gates.
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.3
Ultimate Lemmings 2.0.3 for Macintosh
Build: 86
Release commit: b6b1ca1
Release base: v2.0.2
This maintenance release fixes language selection in Settings.
Language selection
Language buttons now accept clicks across their visible width. Previously,
native radio-button input did not match the centred pixel captions, so clicking
a language could leave System default selected.
Open Settings > Gameplay > Language. Select a language to preview it.
Choose Apply to save the choice or Back to restore the previous language.
System default continues to follow the device language. Keyboard navigation,
accessibility roles and the original pixel artwork are retained.
Reopening What's New also uses the selected language immediately.
This update does not change engine rules,
level content or the existing campaign and source-fidelity limits.
The eight translated language packs remain AI-assisted drafts. Human language
review, physical controllers, VoiceOver, audible listening, minimum-OS and Intel
hardware, HDR appearance and live cross-device synchronisation retain their
recorded validation gaps. Mobile and TV releases have separate gates.
