Antergos NeXT 2026.08.11 "Xeitoso" — trailer (pre-release)

Second drop. First one was 07.11 — this one is what we found while living with it.

Artix Linux base, dinit, KDE Plasma live session, Calamares installer. Here's what actually changed on both repos since the first release.

The big one

• KDE now actually installs. Both the DE and DM choosers used netinstall-add; upstream Calamares tagged all data with a single shared "packageChooser" source, so the second chooser wiped the first's groups and Plasma never reached the packages step. Fixed with a real source patch — Calamares 3.4.2-w0k3, each chooser tags and prunes by its own instance id.
• Live session boots. antergos-live sed was commenting out the remove_calamares_launcher definition (not just the call), killing the dinit service with a parse error. Anchored; boots clean.

Installer & install internals

• Offline installer added (antergos-offline-install), offline calamares configs removed from overlay
• DM selector rework (branding v2.0 slideshow + choose init at install)
• Filesystem tooling in the Default group: btrfs-progs, xfsprogs, f2fs-tools, snapper
• ntp-dinit added + ntpd enabled — clock stays right

Housecleaning

• Dropped obsolete antergos-plasma-theme (Layan owns the desktop now), fixed optdepends descriptions, removed a no-op cmake flag, cleaned dead calamares configs
• Docs overhauled (dinit docs, BYODE, installer/packages pages); AI moderator + community standards added to the repo
