OpenBoost 2.0

Version 2.0 adds a live overlay, disk cleanup, a graphics and driver helper, themes, five languages, and a shareable benchmark card.

What's new

Live overlay

A small click-through window that shows CPU, memory and GPU load, plus a clock, on top of your game.

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+O to turn it on or off, even in-game.
  • Choose any corner, set the opacity, and pick which stats to show.
  • Works with windowed and borderless games. Exclusive fullscreen hides it.

Disk cleanup

Scans and empties temporary files and caches that Windows and games rebuild on their own:

  • User temp files and Windows temp files
  • Thumbnail cache
  • Shader caches (DirectX, NVIDIA, AMD)
  • Windows Update downloads
  • Crash dumps and error reports
  • Recycle Bin (unchecked by default)

You see the size of each item before you clean. OpenBoost only empties this fixed list of folders. It never touches your documents, games or saves, and it skips files that are in use. Windows temp and Update downloads need administrator.

Graphics and drivers

  • Shows your graphics card, driver version and driver date, and flags drivers older than six months.
  • Shows whether hardware GPU scheduling is on.
  • Opens the official NVIDIA, AMD or Intel driver page, Windows Graphics settings, Game Mode settings and Device Manager.
  • OpenBoost does not download or install drivers itself.

Settings: themes, colors and languages

  • Themes: Dark, Midnight (pure black) and Light.
  • Accent color: eight presets or any custom color. The whole palette follows your accent.
  • Languages: English, Italiano, Español, Français and Deutsch.

Benchmark share card

After you run a benchmark, create a clean 1200×630 image of your results. It includes your hardware, how many results improved, and a before and after table.

  • Three styles: Midnight, Paper and Accent.
  • Save as JPG or Copy image to paste straight into Discord, WhatsApp or a post.

Install

  1. Download the installer from the Assets list below.
  2. Run it and launch OpenBoost.
  3. For system-level tweaks, Windows temp cleanup and Update cache cleanup, use Restart as administrator inside the app.

Requires Windows 10 or 11.

Known limitations

  • There is no FPS counter yet. The overlay shows CPU, memory and GPU load only.
  • Menus, buttons and the new tools are translated. Tweak descriptions, benchmark and home explanations, and BIOS tips are still in English.
  • The overlay does not appear over exclusive fullscreen games.

Build from source

git clone https://github.com/ExbotsSites/OpenBoost
cd OpenBoost
npm install
npm start # run from an administrator terminal for system-level tweaks
npm run dist # build the Windows installer

Contributing

  • Translations: all interface text lives in renderer/i18n.js. Copy the en block, translate it, and add your language code in renderer/i18n.js and settings.js. Missing keys fall back to English.
  • Tweaks: add an entry to tweaks.js. It must be reversible (or say why not) and include a source or a benchmark.

See CONTRIBUTING.md

Full changelog

New: live overlay, disk cleanup, graphics and driver helper, Settings page, themes, accent colors, five interface languages, benchmark share card.

Changed: the interface now uses theme variables instead of fixed colors. Navigation, buttons and risk labels are translated.
