Phantasy Star II English Retranslation v1.0
First release of a new English translation of Phantasy Star II, made from the Japanese script rather than the 1989 US localization. Unofficial fan project; not affiliated with SEGA.
What's in it
- The whole script translated anew from the Japanese, with Japanese names throughout (Eusis, Rudger, Anne, Huey, Amia, Kainz, Silka; Algol, Motavia, Palma, Dezolis; Dark Falz, LaShiec, AMeDAS).
- Proportional, mixed-case text in the dialogue and every menu; no length limit on a message (which also removes the Lutz speech music freeze); full-length item, technique, enemy and place names; six-letter party names.
- Phantasy Star IV-style menus, Equip screen and shops (who can equip what, and the stat comparison), battle commands with eight saved macros, TP costs in the battle technique list, damage and healing numbers, and an Options window on Start (Battle Speed, Message Speed).
- FlamePurge's Phantasy Star II Improvement v4.5 (lory1990's bug fixes, fast walking, faster battles, the rebalance), and EvilJagaGenius's centred field camera.
