Explanation of Change

Follow-up docs update for #96553, which hides Hotel from the receipt type search filter (both the filter picker and the search bar autocomplete) until historical receipts are backfilled.

The public help article Use Search Operators to Filter and Analyze listed hotel as a receipt-type: value. Since Hotel is no longer surfaced in the UI, this removes it from the documented list so the help site matches current behavior.

Before: receipt-type: – ereceipt, itemized, hotel
After: receipt-type: – ereceipt, itemized

HelpDot Documentation Review

Overall Assessment
This PR makes a single, surgical one-line change to Use-Search-Operators-to-Filter-and-Analyze.md: it removes hotel from the documented list of receipt-type: operator values, leaving ereceipt, itemized. This is a follow-up to Expensify/App PR 96553, which hid Hotel from the receipt type search filter in the UI until historical receipts are backfilled. The change correctly brings the help article in line with current product behavior.

Scores Summary

  • Readability: 10/10 - The edited line remains a clean, scannable bullet consistent with the surrounding operator list. No flow or clarity impact.
  • AI Readiness: 10/10 - Removing a value no longer surfaced in the UI improves retrieval accuracy so the article no longer describes a non-existent filter option. Surrounding metadata and heading structure are untouched and already compliant.
  • Style Compliance: 10/10 - Values stay in the same lowercase operator-value style used throughout the list (matching autocomplete). No UI-label, casing, or terminology conventions are affected by the removal.

Key Findings

  • The diff is minimal and correct: it deletes exactly the stale value (hotel) and preserves the two values that remain valid in the UI.
  • The change matches the stated intent in the PR description and the source PR (96553), keeping documentation in sync with shipped behavior.
  • No headings, frontmatter, cross-links, or navigation phrasing are touched, so there is no regression risk to governance compliance.
  • Positive: this is exactly the kind of targeted, behavior-tracking docs update the authoring guidelines encourage (avoid documenting features not surfaced in the UI).

Recommendations

  • No blocking issues. Approve and merge.
  • Optional follow-up (not required for this PR): if/when Hotel is re-surfaced in the UI after the receipt backfill, remember to restore hotel to this list so the docs stay accurate.

Files Reviewed

  • docs/articles/new-expensify/reports-and-expenses/Use-Search-Operators-to-Filter-and-Analyze.md - One-line value removal, compliant and correct.

Note: The change is a single line; no separate inline comments were necessary.
