This reverts commit 8671b9c, reversing changes made to ce35c4e.
Details
This commit broke tests in the main app as seen in when I tried to bump onyx. Merged on this PR
More over it caused an exception on the sqlite layer, which causes a crash on app start.
I don't know the context of the changes but they seem convoluted, so in order to unblock my PR with a simple fix I'm reverting this merge for now.
