Service: Plausible Analytics
Plausible Analytics is a lightweight, cookie-free and privacy-focused alternative to Google Analytics. Available as an open web service in Eyevinn Open Source Cloud, it gives you a single-page dashboard with pageviews, referrers and goals without collecting personal data. Plausible stores its data in two databases, PostgreSQL for configuration and accounts and ClickHouse for the event data, so you create both before the Plausible instance.
- If you have not already done so, sign up for an Eyevinn OSC account
Navigate to the PostgreSQL service and click "Create psql-db". Enter a name and a password. See Service: Umami for a walkthrough with screenshots of this step. The connection URL has the form postgres://postgres:<password>@<IP>:<PORT>/postgres.
Create a ClickHouse instance by following Service: ClickHouse. The connection URL has the form clickhouse://<user>:<password>@<IP>:<PORT>.
Navigate to the Plausible Analytics service, open the tab "Service Secrets" and click "New Secret". Create two secrets, for example plausiblepg for the PostgreSQL URL and plausiblech for the ClickHouse URL.
Go to the tab "My analytics" (instances) and click "Create analytics". Enter these values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| name | myplausible |
| PostgreSQLUrl | {{secrets.plausiblepg}} |
| ClickHouseDbUrl | {{secrets.plausiblech}} |
When the status is green and "running", click the instance card to open Plausible.
Plausible has no default admin account. The first time you open the instance, register a new account with your name, email and password. Then click "Add a website", enter the domain of your site without http:// or https://, and copy the tracking script into the <head> of your pages.
<script defer data-domain="example.com" src="https://<your-instance-url>/js/script.js"></script>osc create plausible-analytics myplausible \
