MechDesignCopilot helps you move from design requirements to a complete bill of materials (BOM) quickly. It simplifies complex mechanical and mechatronic designs. You do not need engineering experience or specialized software knowledge to use it.
This app uses AI to assist with automation, documentation, and manufacturing tasks. It supports CAD and CAE workflows and helps you organize your mechanical and robotics projects.

This section explains how to get the software running on your Windows PC. Follow each step carefully.
Before installing, make sure your computer meets these minimum requirements:
- Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
- At least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
- 500 MB free disk space (additional space may be needed for projects)
- Internet connection for updates and AI features
- Screen resolution 1280x720 or higher
You must download the software from the official GitHub page to ensure you get the latest version.

The page shows the latest release and all files you can download.
On the GitHub page, look for a file with a name like MechDesignCopilot-Setup.exe or similar. Usually, it is under the "Releases" section.
Click the installer file name to start downloading. Save the file to your Desktop or another folder you can find easily.
- Find the downloaded file (
MechDesignCopilot-Setup.exe) and double-click it. - If Windows asks for permission, click Yes to allow the app to install.
- Follow the instructions in the setup wizard.
- You can keep the default options.
- Choose the installation folder or use the default path suggested.
- Once finished, click Finish to exit the installer.
- Use the Start Menu and search for “MechDesignCopilot”.
- Click the app icon to open it.
The first time the app opens, it will guide you through basic setup:
- Select your project type (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, etc.).
- Enter any design requirements you have. The app will use these as a starting point.
- Confirm or adjust AI assistant settings. These help automate task steps.
- To start fresh, click New Project.
- To continue work, click Open Project and select your saved file.

Installer won’t start
Make sure you have Windows 10 or later and run the installer as Administrator. Right-click the file and select Run as administrator. -
App won’t open after installation
Restart your computer. Check you meet system requirements. Make sure your antivirus isn’t blocking the app. -
AI features do not respond
Confirm you have an active internet connection. AI features rely on online services. -
Project files won’t save or load
Check if you have write permissions in the folder where you save files. Try saving to the Desktop or Documents.
Check the official GitHub page regularly for updates. The latest release will include bug fixes and new features.
To update:
- Download the newest installer from the same GitHub releases page.
- Run the installer again to overwrite the old version.
- Your projects and settings will remain intact.
- Check the Documentation folder inside the installation directory for detailed guides.

- Look into the included templates to understand how to set up different project types.
