Developer preview — setup is required. This Mac app needs a local Astra gateway, task worker, agent host and model. The download is not a hosted service. macOS 14 or later; Apple silicon and Intel are included in the same app.

What to try:

• Capture a screenshot and choose the Astra question prompt. Type your own question; the image is attached. Sending the question submits the image to the model route you selected.
• Reopen the answer in Work, copy it or save Markdown. Keyboard input and Japanese composition are restored correctly after the floating prompt opens the main window.
• Use Ollama with a vision-capable model for image questions, or a supported API/CLI route. Explicit local selection does not silently fall back to a paid provider.

The 30-second demo uses a real local Ollama qwen3.5:9b response and synthetic screenshot content. The measured response took about 32 seconds; the video labels the trimmed wait. The same answer is available as Astra-screenshot-answer.md.

GitHub CI passed for this source, including the real bootstrap smoke. Validation: 259 acceptance tests passed against an isolated database after correcting two outdated duplicate-translation expectations. The tests now verify reuse of the original translation without extra API calls or events. 130 Swift tests passed, alongside the available native verification gates, TypeScript build, typecheck, tests, formatting and local-host startup/shutdown checks. See the validation record for exact native permission skips. The Mac app is signed with Developer ID and notarized; this is not an App Store release.

The distributed native code matches the tested candidate. Initial launch, Gatekeeper, signature, bundled dependencies, recording recovery and 49 native checks passed; the full recording → live transcript → AI summary → local save journey passed after refreshing the dedicated test credential. calendarask remains skipped because its own-process SwiftUI accessibility tree could not be measured. The exact record is attached as preview-validation.json.

Production-wide acceptance remains open. Recording, live transcription, accessibility and external service workflows need their documented permissions and configuration. Some OS-permission-dependent checks were skipped for the isolated test bundle, and local-model answer quality varies by task. This preview does not claim production-wide release=go.
