Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe.

Currently it seems impossible to get any of the other wood types when making/upgrading Sophisticated Storage chests and barrels, due to the missing recipe for the basic non-upgraded storage chests. Therefore the only type you can get is Oak. I prefer the look of the Dark Oak chests and barrels, and would like there to be an option for all of the vanilla wood styles for these storage containers.

Would the decoration table work for this? also playing SB4, but i couldnt for the life of me remember the name of the customization block so stumbled across this while searching haha

nvm - doesnt work on chests/shulkers, nor does it preserve the original textures

Try using the paintbrush but beyond that because of the way we implemented them they'll need to be made with oak

But I don't want Oak chests, I'd like the Dark Oak variants... Having Sophisticated Storage containers be shop only is something I personally don't like and agree with.

If you're dead-set on keeping them shop only, maybe allow shapelessly-crafting a sophisticated storage chest with a vanilla plank to change its wood type then.
