Release list
FTHR Clips 1.1.1-alpha (Linux)
FTHR Clips Linux release
Linux x86_64 AppImage built on the designated Arch Linux build machine from the linux branch.
Includes the Linux audio/video synchronization fix: desktop audio capture compensates for measured PulseAudio delivery latency and uses a bounded recording buffer.
Verify the adjacent .sha256 file before launching.
FTHR Clips 1.1.0-alpha (Linux)
FTHR Clips 1.1.0-alpha Linux
Linux AppImage built from the upstream linux branch at commit 019fcf5.
Included
- x86_64 Linux AppImage
- Wayland-first capture
- Hyprland hotkeys, including Lua-based configurations
- PipeWire/PulseAudio desktop audio
- AMD VA-API H.264, HEVC, and AV1 when available
- Software encoding fallback
- Optional consent-gated Linux uploader bundle
Scope
This is an alpha Linux release. The strongest validation is native Arch Linux,
Hyprland, PipeWire/PulseAudio, and AMD Radeon hardware. Other distributions,
compositors, GPUs, and X11 sessions remain less extensively qualified.
Lustful hardware-bound uploading is not available on Linux. Catbox and
custom-server uploading remain consent-gated optional providers.
Verify the AppImage with the adjacent .sha256 file before launching.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
This is an alpha release that might be unstable and may not work on all systems.
FTHR Clips 1.1.1-alpha — Experimental
This experimental build fixes the AMD AMF hardware encoding pipeline by switching it to NV12, addressing vertical striping and corrupted playback.
The fix was verified on Windows 11 with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT. Intel hardware encoding remains unverified. The Windows installer is unsigned and intended for local qualification.

Linux hotkey setup
Global hotkeys need you to be in the input group. Run this once, then log out and back in:
sudo usermod -aG input $USERWhat's working
- Background recording (NVENC GPU, x264 CPU fallback)
- Clip saving via hotkey
- Clip viewer + editor
- Audio mixing (desktop + mic)
- Themes and the customization page
Known issues
- Global hotkeys on Linux require the
inputgroup (see setup above). - Window capture (recording a specific app) is Windows only for now — Linux always grabs the full desktop.
- The screenshot feature is a placeholder.
This is alpha software. Expect rough edges. If something breaks, open an issue.
