FXbatch 2.5.0 introduces multiple sizing modes, Windows icon creation with web favicon bundle generation, AVIF format support, collision handling, and safety guards for output folders.

What's New

  • Output folder protection: Conversions cannot be saved directly into the source folder. This prevents accidental overwriting of originals and file locking conflicts.
  • Sizing modes: In addition to percentage scaling (5% to 200%), you can now resize by bounding box (fit within max width and max height), fixed width (proportional height), or fixed height (proportional width).
  • Interpolation filters: Added choices for Lanczos, Bicubic, Bilinear, and Nearest Neighbor.
  • Windows icon creation (.ico): Convert images into standalone Windows icons. Choose between single resolutions (16, 32, 48, 64, 128, or 256 px) or an all-in-one package with all six sizes. Non-square images are automatically center-cropped to 1:1 to avoid stretching.
  • Web favicon bundle generation: Check "Create Favicon Package (.ico + PNGs)" when exporting icons to automatically create a complete web asset bundle: multi-resolution favicon.ico (16, 32, 48 px), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, and apple-touch-icon.png (180x180 px). Single images use standard root names; batch runs prefix files with the source image name.
  • Refreshed icon assets: Updated application launcher icon (app_icon.ico) and window/help favicon (favicon.ico).
  • AVIF image format: Support for reading and exporting AVIF files alongside JPEG, PNG, WebP, and ICO. Transparent areas in PNG, WebP, AVIF, and ICO files are preserved.
  • File collision handling: Settings now include options for Overwrite, Auto-Rename with a numeric suffix, or Skip Existing.
  • Custom filename patterns: Build custom filenames using tokens such as {name}, {w}, {h}, {quality}, and {format}.
  • Explorer shortcut: An "Open Output Folder" button appears after batch completion to quickly view your converted files.
  • Interface updates: Circular theme toggle button, detailed tooltips across settings, a reset-to-defaults button in Settings, and updated progress displays.
