ArWen 2.5.7
A default lid above the anvils, and a moving nest that resumes.
Fixed:
- The default model top moves from 100 hPa to 50 hPa (p_top 5000 Pa, the
WRF Registry default), taking the damp_opt=3 sponge base from ~11 km
to ~15.6 km AGL. The 100 hPa lid damped anvil-layer updrafts and
smeared convective structure on a bare default run; measured on a
3 km HRRR A/B vs MRMS, the 50 hPa lid restores updraft tops and core
counts at equal-or-better FSS and no VRAM or wall cost. Emissions are
bounded per source: a source whose certified ladder stops at 100 hPa
(GFS pgrb2, 20CRv3 NetCDF) keeps its covered top. - A tree with [relocation.containment] can be resumed: the checkpoint
records the parent slides in the move chain, the slid parent is put
back with its own initializer, and a restore is no longer judged by
the per-move steering cap. - A resumed or branched run of a moving nest keeps the precipitation
totals a move shifted into the domain edge; the restore migration
zeroes only what no relocation carries.
The moving-nest restart fixes were contributed by Roch.
