PixelPal Windows v2.3.1 — Agent Routing and Pal FM Reliability

Promotes human-accepted Windows candidate b9886a49686051f58e34f80b13a83ba64c814771 with release metadata changes only. Configured Talk uses model-first routing with canonical conversation, optional agent_plan metadata and bounded no-side-effect tool correction. Pal FM retains recovered playback ownership and removes eager loading of 400 unused route implementations from its cold-start readiness path. The 12-second readiness deadline is unchanged; cancellation and child exit ownership are tracked.

Agent Experience combines existing PixelPal capabilities into a single goal, including Workstation, confirmed Tidy, Pal FM and volume. Agent Activity shows real progress, supports cancellation and reports completed, partial or failed results based on execution receipts and verified state. Music Policy is limited to the current session, can be queried, paused or cancelled, and yields to manual user actions. Pal FM playback and FlowPal source management remain distinct.

Retains Agent Foundation, Memo, bounded long-file/OCR summaries, music sources, FM random playback, DJ, volume, background playback and mini-bar interaction. No today/long-term Policy, named routines, or general Windows automation is included.

Retains Electron 43.6.0, sandboxed renderers, narrow validated capabilities, DPAPI-protected credentials and bounded requests/streams. AI does not have general Windows or arbitrary file control.

This Windows build is unsigned. If SmartScreen appears, verify SHA256SUMS.txt, then choose More info and Run anyway. Existing settings and credentials migrate on launch.

macOS arm64 remains v2.0.0 Previous Stable. macOS Agent Foundation and Agent Experience: NOT VALIDATED. macOS Security Modernization: NOT YET VALIDATED. No macOS artifact was built or replaced in this release. For the existing unsigned macOS app, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway after the first launch attempt.

Release verification

The exact installer passed clean per-user installation, upgrade from v2.3.0 with settings and synthetic Memo preserved, restart and uninstall in isolated GitHub-hosted Windows runners. For unattended installation, pass /currentuser /S explicitly. Plain /S exited with 0xC0000005 before creating an install record on the current Windows 2025 hosted runner image; the underlying crash cause was not diagnosed. Explicit per-user mode passed without changing installer bytes.

Final real-provider smoke passed cold process startup, ordinary Talk, a verified volume Agent action, first-attempt Pal FM, daily recommendations, next/pause/resume, basic Workstation persistence and clean exit. The first FM service was ready in 846 ms; first real audio arrived in 8.949 seconds with no retry or startup timeout. This is a single bounded smoke run, not a performance guarantee. Three DeepSeek requests and 19 read-only music requests were used; Fish was not called. Playback was muted and limited to a conservative 14.2-second total.

See the attached regression, install-gate, production-smoke, source and payload consistency JSON records. The application payload matches the accepted candidate except for the stable package version. No macOS or Play backend changes are included.

@Faiz-V Faiz-V released this 04 Sep 08:12

PixelPal v2.0.0

PixelPal 2.0.0 desktop application release.

Supported platforms:

  • Windows x64
  • macOS Apple Silicon (arm64)

Release preparation SHA: d6b78d9d46aab76d0e3f90d103754b02b707af37

Windows artifact source SHA: 7e57fcbc33f052278af7ed4e9ce187cdb751e735

Known limitation: unsigned build

These community test builds do not use a commercial signing identity. On Windows, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”; choose “More info” and then “Run anyway” only if the downloaded SHA-256 matches SHA256SUMS.txt.

The macOS app uses an ad-hoc integrity seal only; it has no Apple Developer ID and is not notarized. Attempt to open PixelPal once, then use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
