What's new in 0.2.0

More formats through Windows' codecs

  • Every format Windows has a codec for (Windows Imaging Component) is opened: HEIC/HEIF (with the HEIF Image Extensions and the HEVC Video Extensions from the Microsoft Store), AVIF (with the AV1 Video Extension), camera RAW files such as CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW and DNG (with the Raw Image Extension, included in Windows 11), JPEG XR, DDS and the formats of other installed codecs.
  • When the extension a format needs is missing, the image area names it.
  • HEIF, AVIF, RAW and JPEG XR are registered as file types with their own icons.

Gallery

  • The Sub-folders check box shows the images of all sub-folders of a folder as well, in one sort order; with By folder, folder by folder under headers, sorted within each folder.
  • F5 also reads the folder tree again, keeping the expanded folders; a drive plugged in or removed appears or disappears.

Files

  • Rename with F2 or from the context menus and the File menu; Ctrl+Z undoes the last renames of the session.

Viewer

  • Esc in the viewer opens the gallery; in the gallery it closes qview.

File associations

  • Files opened with qview through "Open with" before the registration get the icon and the name of their type.
  • An extension no other program handles (QOI, for example) gets qview as its default program.

  • Открываются все форматы, для которых в Windows есть кодек (Windows Imaging Component): HEIC/HEIF (при установленных расширениях HEIF Image Extensions и HEVC Video Extensions из Microsoft Store), AVIF (с расширением AV1 Video Extension), RAW-файлы фотоаппаратов, например CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW и DNG (с расширением Raw Image Extension, входящим в Windows 11), JPEG XR, DDS и форматы других установленных кодеков.
  • Если нужного формату расширения нет, в области изображения указывается, какое расширение требуется.
  • HEIF, AVIF, RAW и JPEG XR регистрируются как типы файлов со своими значками.

Галерея

  • Флажок «Вложенные папки» показывает также изображения всех вложенных папок единым списком в выбранном порядке сортировки; с флажком «По папкам» — по папкам под заголовками, с сортировкой внутри каждой папки.
  • F5 также перечитывает дерево папок, сохраняя раскрытые папки; подключённый или извлечённый диск появляется или исчезает.

Файлы

  • Переименование клавишей F2, из контекстных меню и меню «Файл»; Ctrl+Z отменяет последние переименования за сеанс.

Просмотр

  • Esc при просмотре открывает галерею; в галерее закрывает qview.

Сопоставление файлов

  • Файлы, которые открывались в qview через «Открыть с помощью» до регистрации, получают значок и название своего типа.
  • Расширение, которое не обрабатывает ни одна другая программа (например, QOI), получает qview программой по умолчанию.
