Es wird ein interaktiver Dialog gestartet, mit welchem ALLE Einstellungen aktualisiert werden.

ℹ️ ON/OFF-Einstellungen können mit JA y oder NEIN n gesetzt werden.

  • automatically use settings file instead of user dialog (y/n): (empfohlen: y)

    • y ▶️ beim Starten von DB-Matcher-v5 wird die manuelle Konfiguration übersprungen und stattdessen die Einstellungen verwendet, welche hier gerade gesetzt werden. Praktisch, wenn häufig die gleichen Einstellungen verwendet werden. Spart Zeit bei wiederholtem Einsatz von DB-Matcher-v5.

  • get an auditive feedback when finishing processes (beep) (y/n)

    • y ▶️ Wenn ein Prozess (Vorbereitung, Berechnung, Speichern) beendet wird, wird der Standard-Konsolenwarnton ausgegeben (~beep). Praktisch, wenn größere Datenbanken gematched werden und die Prozesse mehr Zeit in Anspruch nehmen. Lassen Sie DB-Matcher-v5 im Hintergrund arbeiten, so werden Sie auditiv benachrichtigt, wenn die Aufgabe abgeschlossen ist.

    • y ▶️ Die Berechnung wird in kleinere Teile aufgeteilt, welche parallel berechnet werden. Kann auf manchen Systemen zu kürzeren Berechnungszeiten führen. Nur empfohlen, wenn Ihr Computer vier(4) oder mehr CPU-Kerne/Logische Prozessoren besitzt.
    • n ▶️ Die Berechnung wird nicht aufgeteilt, sondern sequentiell durchgeführt. Dies kann zu längeren Berechnungszeiten führen. Empfohlen, wenn Ihr Computer weniger als vier(4) CPU-Kerne/Logische Prozessoren besitzt.

  • enable new experimental multi threading (maybe unstable) (y/n) (empfohlen: n)

    • y ▶️ Aktivierung einer neuen Methode des Multi Threadings. Diese ist noch nicht vollständig entwickelt. Bei Verwendung ist die Stabilität von DB-Matcher-v5 nicht garantiert. Aktivierung NICHT empfohlen.
    • n ▶️ Verwendung der stabilen Methode des Multi Threadings. Dringend empfohlen.

  • number of threads - enter value (default: 4)

    • ~Eingabe ▶️ Geben Sie hier die Anzahl der verfügbaren CPU-Kerne/Logische Prozessoren ein. Nur wirksam, falls das experimentelle Threading aktiviert ist. Ansonsten lassen Sie die Eingabe leer und bestätigen nur mit ENTER.

ℹ️ Diese Einstellung hat keine Auswirkung auf die Funktionalität des normalen Threadings.

  • automatically open newly generated excel-file in excel (y/n) (empfohlen: y)
    • y ▶️ Nach dem Abschluss der Berechnung wird Excel von DB-Matcher-v5 gestartet und die neue Excel-Tabelle geöffnet. Praktisch, wenn die Ergebnisse direkt verwendet werden sollen.

    • y ▶️ Die neue Konfiguration wird gespeichert und ist von nun an verfügbar. Diese Option überschreibt die vorherige Konfiguration. DB-Matcher-v5 muss nun neu gestartet werden.
    • n ▶️ Die Konfiguration wird abgebrochen und Sie gelangen zurück in das Recovery Menu.

Es wird ein externer Texteditor geöffnet, mit welchem die Einstellungen direkt bearbeitet werden können (Windows: Editor; Linux: Nano). Nach dem externen Bearbeiten der Einstellungen muss DB-Matcher-v5 neu gestartet werden.

launch data file agent ~4

ℹ️ Das Data File ist ein Feature, mit dem bekannte Übereinstimmungen in den Datenbanken in die Berechnung mit einbezogen werden können.

Beispiel: data file: BOS ---> AWT ▶️ BOS.123456 == AWT.1234565 (LD-Value: 0)

  • Create DATA file (y/n):

  • Eingabe der bekannten Übereinstimmungen

    • Eingabe primär: ▶️ Eingabe des ersten Partners (z.B. BOS)
    • Eingabe sekundär: ▶️ Eingabe des zweiten Partners (z.B. AWT)

ℹ️ Verlassen Sie den Data File Mode jederzeit, indem Sie DIREXIT anstelle von Eingabe primär: oder Eingabe sekundär: eingeben und mit ENTER bestätigen. DB-Matcher-v5 muss nun neu gestartet werden. Nach dem Neustart ist das data file für die Verwendung bereit.

  • automatically use settings file instead of user dialog (y/n): (recommended: y)

    • y ▶️ when starting DB-Matcher-v5, the manual configuration is skipped and the settings that are currently set here are used instead. Practical if the same settings are used frequently. Saves time when using DB-Matcher-v5 repeatedly.
    • n ▶️ The settings must be reset EVERY time DB-Matcher-v5 is started. Practical if different settings are frequently required. More time-consuming.

  • use big logo at startUp (y/n): (recommended: y)

    • y ▶️ The blue banner of DB-Matcher-v5 is loaded and displayed at startup in the terminal.
    • n ▶️ The classic DB-Matcher-v5 menu ribbon is displayed. Activate if display problems occur with the banner.

  • skip data file setup at startUp (y/n): (recommended: y)

    • y ▶️ The dialog for creating a Data File is skipped when starting DB-Matcher-v5. The Data File can be configured at any time in the Recovery Menu under launch data file agent. Saves time. Practical if either no Data File or the same one is needed several times.
    • n ▶️ At EVERY start of DB-Matcher-v5 you are asked whether a Data File should be created or the existing one deleted. Practical if other Data File configurations are frequently used. More time-consuming.

    • y ▶️ When starting DB-Matcher-v5, you are not asked whether the existing Data File should be used. If one has already been configured, it will be used. Saves time.
    • n ▶️ At EVERY start of DB-Matcher-v5 you are asked whether the Data File should be used. More time consuming

  • verbose output (y/n) (recommended: n)

    • y ▶️ A detailed process analysis is displayed while DB-Matcher-v5 matches the databases. Leads to significantly longer calculation times. The remaining time required for the calculation is not displayed. Only activate if the processes are to be checked by DB-Matcher-v5 or during debugging.
    • n ▶️ During the calculation, only a progress bar and the time remaining for the calculation are displayed. Leads to significantly shorter calculation times.

  • always write results (y/n) (recommended: y)

    • y ▶️ The results of the matching are always written to the Excel table.
    • n ▶️ The results of the matching are NOT saved. Only activate if the processes are to be checked by DB-Matcher-v5 or when debugging. Only useful in combination with the activation of verbose output.

  • get an auditive feedback when finishing processes (beep) (y/n)

    • y ▶️ When a process (preparation, calculation, saving) is finished, the standard console warning tone is emitted (~beep). Useful if larger databases are matched and the processes take more time. If you let DB-Matcher-v5 work in the background, you will be notified audibly when the task is complete.
    • n ▶️ No sound is emitted. Useful for faster calculations (~smaller databases), frequent use (the beeping can otherwise be a bit annoying) or when DB-Matcher-v5 is running in the foreground.

  • visualize matching grade with color gradients (y/n) (recommended: y)

    • y ▶️ The cell containing the matching data is colored according to the degree of similarity. Practical if the similarities are to be viewed quickly and intuitively.
    • n ▶️ No coloring of the cells

  • enable multi threading (y/n)

    • y ▶️ The calculation is divided into smaller parts, which are calculated in parallel. Can lead to shorter calculation times on some systems. Only recommended if your computer has four (4) or more CPU cores/logical processors.
    • n ▶️ The calculation is not split but performed sequentially. This can lead to longer calculation times. Recommended if your computer has fewer than four (4) CPU cores/logical processors.

ℹ️ This setting has no effect on the functionality of normal threading.

  • automatically open newly generated excel-file in excel (y/n) (recommended: y)
    • y ▶️ Once the calculation has been completed, Excel is started by DB-Matcher-v5 and the new Excel table is opened. Practical if the results are to be used directly.
    • n ▶️ Excel is not started after the calculation has been completed and the new Excel table is not opened. Useful if the results are not to be used directly.

ℹ️ This function is only available if DB-Matcher-v5 is running on Windows 10/11

  • path to excel.exe - enter value (default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE) (recommended: ~empty)
    • ~empty ▶️ If the entry is left blank (only ENTER is pressed), the default path is used to start Excel. This is where Excel is usually located. If an error message appears stating that Excel.exe could not be found, a manual path entry is necessary.
    • ~Path ▶️ Enter the path to Excel.exe here. Usually only necessary if a user-defined path was specified during the installation of Excel or Office.

ℹ️ If you are not sure, leave the entry blank and just press ENTER. ℹ️ After the entry (whether blank or not), you will be asked to confirm the path. Check the path again. If the entry is correct, confirm with y, if you want to change the path to Excel.exe again, press n.#

  • continue and save new settings? (y/n):
    • y ▶️ The new configuration is saved and is available from now on. This option overwrites the previous configuration. DB-Matcher-v5 must now be restarted.
    • n ▶️ The configuration is canceled and you return to the Recovery Menu.

An external text editor is opened with which the settings can be edited directly (Windows: Editor; Linux: Nano). After editing the settings externally, DB-Matcher-v5 must be restarted.

ℹ️ The data file is a feature with which known matches in the databases can be included in the calculation.
